001 Amanda Lorenz (OC Batbusters) mug1This is Amanda Lorenz’s time to shine.

The talented outfielder is playing with the OC Batbusters, the team that many feel has the best shot to win PGF Nationals in a few weeks.

I’ve seen Amanda at a couple of events so far and she has been on fire, hitting everything to all fields and looking better than she was even last year when the centerfielder from Moorpark (Calif.) High was rated as the No. 1 player in the 2015 class.

Amanda earned 1st Team All-American honors this spring when she hit .642 with eight home runs and 22 doubles.

In 2013, the Florida commit was a MaxPreps Underclass All-American, CalHiSports.com All-State pick and Ventura County Star Player of the Year after batting .626 with 17 home runs and a 1.377 slugging percentage. In 96 at-bats, she only struck out once and her deadly hitting stroke has some saying it’s one of the best to ever come out of Southern California.

Last summer, Amanda helped lead Team Mizuno-Stith to the PGF 18U National Championship game and in 2012 she was part of the 16U team that won the PGF national title.

Being a Batbuster is an amazing opportunity and I’m so happy to be apart of this organization.

Every practice and game I am surrounded by teammates who push me to be the best that I can be. I learn from each of my teammates daily and I’m so blessed to have the talented teammates I do.

Amanda is one reason the OC Batbusters are positioned as a favorite to win PGF Nationals this summer.

I rarely ever feel pressure to perform. Because my teammates are so talented, I know that if my at-bats do not go as well as I want them too, my team will still get the job done and we will walk away with a win.

Being a Batbuster means we receive top-notch training. Mike Stith and Gary Haning are unbelievable coaches. I have been on Mike’s teams since 8th grade and I have learned so many ways to get better.

We also train with EM Speed and Power. Our players train with EM multiple times a week. We participate in speed work and then we go through a lift.

Our team is full of role players. Each player has a role and without one of them we wouldn’t be as successful as we have been. We play very well together and have great team chemistry.

The best thing about our team is every person has the same dedication and will to work hard to be the best.

Til next time!
