2015’s leading Texas Sudden Impact (7/6)
2015’s leading Texas Sudden Impact (7/6)

The Texas Sudden Impact-Dutton squad lost a tough game last night in the Round of 16 at the Colorado Fireworks/Sparkler tournament falling 4-3 to the Oklahoma Exclusive Gold, but the future looks bright for the team coached by Glenn Bennett and managed by Tim Dutton.
The Sudden Impact was impressive two weeks ago at the So Cal Athletics Invitational making it to the finals game and leading the way for the team is a quartet of incoming seniors who are setting the example for a strong group of underclassmen.
Here’s a run-down of each of the four with comments by Dutton as to what makes each athlete a Hot 100 type of player:

— 2B/OF Aubrey Leach (2015, Tennessee)
“There’s no doubt in my mind that she is one of the best leadoff hitters in the game, she draws a lot of walks, can play the soft game, power slap and now has added some power to her game driving the ball out of the park. She is one of the smartest players I have ever coached and works extremely hard and wants to be the best. She is the spark plug for our team’s offense. She’s a top 25 type of player in her class.”
— SS Amber Serrett (2015, LSU)
“Amber is without a doubt our team leader and will go into LSU and start at shortstop as a freshman I believe. She generally leads our team in batting average right there with Aubrey and very few people can make some of the plays she makes at shortstop. She is a coach on the field and has a cannon for an arm; there is nothing that she can’t do on the softball field. She’s also a top 25 level player.”
— P Abby Langkamp (2015, Baylor)
“Out of all of the players I have had, Abby was the most heavily recruited and turned down significant offers from several programs including Arizona State right after they won the National Championship. She has the potential to be one of the best. When all the pitches are working she is deadly and she led her Texas High School to the 5A State Championship game this season with a 29-1 record, 1.69 ERA 184 strikeouts to 35 walks in 158 innings.”
— 1B/OF Lexi Huffman (2015, Purdue)
“Lexi is just beginning to hit her stride. She is the strongest kid on the team and is one of the leaders on the team in homeruns. She is not as flashy since she plays first base but she handles the glove very well and gives our infield great opportunities to make some incredible plays. Her absolute strength to our team is her hitting, she was 7 for 13 at the So Cal A’s Invitiational with a couple of doubles and had no strikeouts.”
