If the name Sabrina Turner sounds familiar, it could be because she was listed as one of the Hot 100 players in the 2015 class after leading her St. Patrick (Biloxi, Miss.) team to the state championship and winning 3A State Player of the Year honors for the second year in a row.

The Mississippi State commit, who went 21-1 last year, is having another strong campaign this spring as she’s 13-2 in the circle with 101 K’s in 86 innings and is equally dangerous at the plate hitting .425 with 10 doubles and 18 RBI from her leadoff spot.

This past week she’s really heated up, pitching two complete game shutouts striking out 15 in 12 innings against the 5A South state runner-up and the 3A South state runner up.  She also batted .583 with two homeruns, two doubles and a slugging percentage of 1.583 and had two home runs against the 5A team.

As impressive as she is on the softball field—she also has played basketball for the Fighting Irish—she may top her athletic achievements with her in-class and extra-curricular success.

Sabrina is a straight A student with a 4.33 GPA and is active in several key organizations:  she’s the Vice President of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Vice President of the National Science Honor Society, a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, the National Math Honor Society, the National Spanish Honor Society, the First Team Robotics and the Art Club.

And, if that’s not enough, she’s also a key figure in the Mississippi Quarter Horse Youth Association and this past January designed a special Dixie Equestrian t-shirt that was used for the Equestrians with Disabilities Show where a record 94 entries competed.
