Tara Trainer back on track (4/2)

One of the most amazing stories we’ve covered over the last year was the return from a near-fatal car crash of Ohio pitcher Tara Trainer.  You can read about her story here in an article done in December.

Tara opened the game with three straight K's and closed the game with three in the seventh.

Tara, who we have ranked as the No. 88 player in the Class of 2015, is headed to Indiana and had an outstanding freshman year before the accident put her out of action for nine months.

Her season started on Tuesday as she led Lebanon High to a match-up against a very good Greenville team.

Although she told the Dayton Daily News, “My pitching is like 90 percent right now,” Tara struck out 18 as she scattered three hits and walked four in a 4-1 win as her drop ball, rise, curve and change-up were all working for her.

Trainer helped her own cause with a run-producing sac fly and then closed the game with three strikeouts in the seventh inning.
