End of Year / Start of 2014 News

We’re just days away from starting 2014, can you believe it?  Seems like only a few weeks ago it was summer and we were enjoying the thrill of the Nationals run!

With the start of the new year, I’m happy to say that starting next Monday–January 6th–we’ll begin the launch of our 2015 Hot 100 list.  Feel free to send it any info you have, we haven’t locked in the 100 exactly but we’re very, very close!

Also, here’s what’s in store for the next week in addition to our regular Daily Updates (note: we’ll be watching football all day Wednesday so no Daily Update on Jan 1st!):

Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013: Top 10 Stories of the Year
I’m putting together my list, what do YOU think were the key news stories of ’13 in softball?  From the pro and Olympics level down to the rec level, what would make your list?  Send me your thoughts and I may use your info!  e-mail to: brentt@studentsports.com.

Wednesday, Jan 1, 2014: Players: “My New Year’s Goals & Resolutions”
Similar to our Christmas Day article, we’ll run feedback from top players nationwide who list what their big goals are for the new years.  Players: if you’d like to provide your thoughts, please write me (brentt@studentsports.com) answering this question: What is your No. 1 goal for 2014 or your New Year’s Resolution?

Thursday, Jan 2, 2014: Master Verbal List
As is done every Thursday morning, we’ll list those players fortunate enough to know where they’ll be playing at the next level covering the 2014 to the 2018 classes.  We’re fast approaching 1,800 names!

Friday, Jan 3: 2014: Feature Story — Olympic Dream… Achieved!
I’m not going to spoil the surprise of who it is, but be sure to read this story I’m excited to write about a softball player who made it to the Olympics… but with a twist!

Monday, Jan 6: 2014: HOT 100 2015’s Begin!

Finally, a personal big THANK YOU to all you readers and followers of our site–you’re what makes this engine run.  I’m proud to say we’ve had at least one post every day–most weekdays with two counting the Daily Update–for the last six months.

Let’s keep it going and have a great 2014 as we go through the high school season and then hit the club road on the run to Nationals this summer!
