Players: “my Halloween plans”

In honor of Halloween, we asked players from the OC Batbusters organization what they were going to be doing on this day of ghouls, ghosts and goblins.
Not surprisingly, softball activities were foremost in the plans of many with major tournaments like the Sun Classic Fall Showcase and Ronald McDonald hitting this weekend.
In the spirit of full disclosure, we asked several weeks ago so some of there plans may have changed between then and now!

My Halloween plans…

Halloween for me always begins with my family’s tradition of pumpkin carving. We have been doing this since I was about five years old. My grandparents’ garage floor is covered with dozens of different carving patterns. Everyone picks out the pattern they want to carve.
Once everyone has finished, we turn of all the lights, put candles inside the pumpkins and have someone come and judge for a first place pumpkin. The best part of it is putting your candle in and getting to see how your pumpkin turned out, you really get to see all the fine details of your design.
Trick or treating is probably not in the plan but I do love a good Heath bar and a good costume. The last couple of years have been last minute, we’ll see what adventure awaits me this year.

My entire team and I went to Knotts Scary Farm earlier this month for some team bonding.

I plan on trick or treating and maybe going to a party with some of my close friends, then that following Saturday attending my high school’s homecoming dance.
— C Andi Jarvis (OC Batbusters-Briggs 18U)

My Halloween plans are to go trick-or-treating with my friends; my costume is Si from Duck Dynasty. Also, my team is playing at the Halloween Havoc.
— P Chloe Nightingale (OC Batbusters-Garcia 14U)
I will be playing in a showcase tournament in Florida with my team. I don’t really enjoy Halloween that much so I am so happy to get to play softball instead.
— P/UT Maddy Dwyer (OC Batbusters-Stith 18U)
My Halloween will be spent on a plane heading to Florida for a tournament. Our Homecoming Dance has a theme so not really a party but my friend and I are going as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.

— SS Alyssa Podhurcak (OC Batbusters-Briggs 14U)

For Halloween I’m going to be a Disney princess for school and a team party. I’m not going trick or treating this year. I will be celebrating Halloween playing paintball with zombies.
