OKLAHOMA HIGH SCHOOL STATE PLAYOFFS (LARGE SCHOOLS – Class 6A, 5A, 4A) Day 2 Results
It’s the final big week for fastpitch season in the Sooner State as the Oklahoma H.S. Fastpitch State Tournament (Large Schools Class 6A, 5A and 4A) started on Thursday and runs through Saturday (Oct. 17-19).
It’s a single elimination formation that takes place at Firelakes Ballpark in Shawnee, Okla.
***UPDATE: The start of Saturday’s state softball championship games has been delayed until 1 p.m. due to the weather conditions, the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association said.
The games were originally scheduled to begin with Class 4A at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. They will all start two hours later.
CLASS 6A
Friday Semi-Finals

Moore 4, Mustang 1
Moore pitcher Jenna Lynn scattered three hits over seven innings to lead Moore to the 6A title game. Kristen Prieto hit a two-run home run in the first and Brianna McArthur hit a two-run single in the sixth for insurance in the Lions’ win.
Southmoore 6, Broken Arrow 0
Southmoore pitcher Katelyn Brown allowed only one hit in the 6-0 shutout of Broken Arrow to run her record to 21-2. She also had an RBI single to pad the lead after Sydne Sherrill opened the scoring with at two-run home run in the second. Broken Arrow trailed 2-0 going into the seventh when the SaberCats blew the game open with four insurance runs.
Saturday’s Final
Moore (34-3) vs. Southmoore (30-4), Field 4, 4 p.m.
CLASS 5A
Friday Semi-Finals
Edmond Deer Creek 3, Claremore 1
Claremore broke a scoreless time with a run in the third, but Deer Creek tied it in the sixth and added two more in the seventh for the win. Emily Watson of EDC was the star as she picked up the win to run her record to 31-4 and also hit a key home run late to help her own cause.
Carl Albert 11, Tahlequah 4
Carl Albert exploded for five runs in the first two innings and never looked back to run its record to 34-1 and advance to the 5A championship game. Abby Meador struckout 13 for the Titans to run her record to 29-0.
Saturday’s Final
Edmond Deer Creek (31-7) vs. Carl Albert (34-1), Field 2, 1:30 p.m.
CLASS 4A
Friday Semi-Finals
Hilldale 5, Blanchard 2
Hillsdale, the No. ranked team, scored once in the first inning and three times in the third to put the game out of reach with Sarah Hughey’s two-run double being the key blow. Pitcher Destiny Riddles gave up a two-run home run to Blanchard’s Ashli Hafford in the seventh but closed the door to pick up the win and put the Hornets in Saturday’s title game.
Bethel 7, Cache 2
Bethel was led by pitcher Kim Herron gave up only two hits over seven innings, one being a home run by Cache’s Nollie Johnson, to help the No. 6 ranked team advance to face Hillsdale on Saturday.
