Champions Cup starts today
Wednesday, July 10, 2013– One of the top summer tournaments kicks off in Irvine, Calif. today as the 2013 Champions Cup will feature 98 teams from Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, Oregon, Utah and Washington.
It’s the 10th year for the ASA-associated Champions Cup and the teams will have six games in pool play before the single elimination tournament starts Saturday.
The title game will take place Sunday (July 14) at 5:30 pm PST.
The 16U winners of the 48 teams who competed were crowned earlier this week as the KG Hitters beat Firecrackers Rice and last weekend Team Mizuno-Briggs won the 14U bracket with 24 teams.
Last year’s winner at the 18U level was Next Level-Jerry which defeated Lakewood Firecrackers-Araujo. The 16U level was won by the Corona Angels-Knighten.
