Sydney Supple from Oshkosh, Wisconsin is one of the top 2019 players in the country and last year committed to Northwestern when she was just 13 years old. The tall lefty, who is also a standout hitter, is a freshman at Oshkosh North High School and is playing on the Beverly Bandits-Conroy/Terrell 16U team that should be one of the best in the nation in its age division.

Sydney and her Beverly Bandits team were Co-Champions at the PGF Labor Day Showcase over the weekend after the decision was made between the head coaches of her team and the Bandits DeMarini team decided not to play the final game.

In her final blog from the Showcase, Sydney reviews her softball heavy weekend!

The PGF Labor Day Showcase in Crown Point, Ind. over the weekend exceeded all of my expectations!

I came into this tournament with high expectations for all the Bandit teams, but especially for my team and myself. They were all accomplished!
In the 16U bracket, three out of the four last teams standing were Beverly Bandits and my team, Team Conroy had three big wins in bracket play including beating the very talented Beverly Bandit-Allen tam in the semifinals.

The Championship Game would have been an incredible one to watch with my Beverly Bandits-Conroy team against the Beverly Bandit Demarini team based out of Ohio.

After a talk between the coaches, the choice was made to share the title as Co-Champions.

As much as I would have loved to play the game, I understand why they did it. It was a great opportunity to give all the girls and families enough time to drive back to all of their different states before school started again today.

One of the best parts of the tournament for me was getting to see all of the 14U and 16U Beverly Bandit teams.

Plus, going back to Crown Point, Ind. always feels special to me. It is special for the fact that it’s where it all started for me. I just started my third season for the Bandits and I can remember my first practice as a 12U player in Crown Point as clear as if it was yesterday.

For my entire first year, almost every weekend was spent there. It turned into a place where we called our “home away from home.”

Since then, Chicago has filled that role, but coming back to Crown Point is like coming back to where it all began. It’s exactly like what the fall season is: the start… the beginning of a special new season!
