Chicago Bandits
Megan Blank and Michelle Gascoigne re-sign with the Chicago Bandits. Megan Blank may be one of the most promising players in the league. A cool left-handed hitter with a smooth load and swing. Like many players in the league, Blank came to the Bandits as a shortstop but learned quickly how to play first base. The Bandits keep most of their Championship bullpen with Gascoigne, Moulton, Waldrop, and Tatum Edwards. I would anticipate the return of Monica Abbott and Verdun. But we will have to wait and see?
Dallas Charge
Danielle Henderson returns in 2016 with the Dallas Charge. Henderson is a solid third baseman with power to the gaps. Brianna Cherry and Sarah Purvis also return to reinforce the strong core of Charge players. I look forward to watching the Dallas Charge play in their sophomore season. The Charge will need to add speed, depth in the middles, and another catcher to be able to move up in the ranks. Kevin Shelton, General Manager of the Dallas Charge, made a great move in hiring Kristen Zaleski to the Dallas Charge coaching staff. Kristen brings pro experience to the team having played five seasons and named NPF MVP in 2005. It is a pleasure to add Zaleski to our brain trust for the upcoming season. Her combination of NPF playing and college coaching experience is a nice blend to add to Coach Rocha and Coach Wieligman. The voice of a former league MVP will be a valuable asset to our roster which is still very young. She is a great complementary piece to our club,” Dallas Charge GM Kevin Shelton said.
Three coaches on staff is becoming the new standard in the league. Head Coach Jennifer Rocha, who facilitated the hire stated, “I am very excited about adding Kristen Zaleski to this staff. Her knowledge of the game and experience in the NPF will be a tremendous asset to our team. Kristen has a heartfelt passion for the league and growing the game and I look forward to coaching with her.”
