We combined our eight master verbal lists from February and March to give you a super-sized master verbal breakdown! You'll find all the must-see information and data from the last two month of commitments, including which Big 5 Conference had the most recruits, what percentage of the verbals were 2020s, and which club team reported the most commitments!

Since November, when we started breaking down our master verbal lists, the SEC has led all Big 5 Conferences with their number of commits, and February and March were no different. The SEC boasted 14 commits, with Alabama and Kentucky leading the way the three each. The only other Big 5 Conference team with three commits was Oklahoma, but the Big 12 was second-to-last in commits, pulling in only seven. The Big Ten and ACC conferences both garnered nine commits each, and rounding out the commits by Big 5 Conferences was the Pac-12, with a mere five.

An overwhelming majority of commits in February and March came from the 2017 and 2018 classes — 71% to be exact — with the 2017 class having the slight edge at 37% of the total 229 commits the last two months. Both 2016 and 2019 accounted for 13% of the commits, and the class of 2020 pulled in 3% with a total of eight commits.

Of the 229 total commits, 206 of them will play Division I softball, meaning 90% of our verbals in February and March were to Division I schools. Yet, only 19% of those commits will play in one of the Big 5 Conferences. In total, 38 different conferences were represented in February and March's master verbal lists.

While Alabama, Oklahoma, and Kentucky led the way in Big 5 commits, Georgia State, McNeese State, and Portland State led all universities in commitments. Georgia State secured the most with six, and McNeese State and Portland State both pulled in five commits.

Among club teams, the Texas Glory reported an outstanding 30 commits over the last two months, but 13 of those commits were to Division II schools. Michigan Finesse committed the second-highest number of players with nine, but none of those verbals were to Big 5 Conference schools. The Cal Nuggets had seven verbals during February and March, giving them the third-most commits of any club team.

As we see most months, pitchers are heavily favored as verbals, and this breakdown is no different with 56 pitchers committing. Adding catchers into the mix, the battery positions accounted for 40% of February and March's commits.
