Zepp 2 Introduces Smart Coach System

San Jose, Calif. – April 5, 2016 – Zepp, the world’s best-selling digital sports training device, announces Zepp 2, the next generation of its sensor and software for golf and baseball-softball.

The new device features the revolutionary Smart Coach system that empowers athletes to train smarter and improve faster than ever before. Users simply take a few swings, then Zepp diagnoses areas to improve, and offers personalized training programs based on each individual’s swing data. The training programs come from the best players and coaches in each sport. Mike Trout, Jennie Finch, John Mallee, and Tim Walton will guide baseball and softball players through customized plans to improve their swings. Personalized instruction for golfers will be provided by Michelle Wie, Keegan Bradley, Rick Smith and Pat Shea. Regardless of a player’s skill level, Zepp takes the guesswork out of training to shows users where and how they can take their game to the next level.

“We have always been committed to helping athletes improve at the sports they love,” said Robin Han, Zepp CEO. “And improvement starts with the right training plan. The addition of Smart Coach will help athletes and coaches at all levels focus their training and improve with greater efficiency and confidence.”

The Smart Coach training system starts with the instant evaluation feature. A user simply takes a few swings and Zepp 2 analyzes thousands of data points to diagnose what the player is doing well and where they have room for improvement. Based on each individual’s swing data, Zepp 2 recommends the right training program for their swing. When a user completes the training program, they can take another instant evaluation to see their improvement in real time.

Smart Coach takes the guesswork out of training and instantly identifies where to focus efforts with personalized programs from the pros. In addition to training programs focused on swing mechanics, the new Zepp 2 app also introduces fitness-training plans that help users increase flexibility and core strength to become well-rounded athletes. Each training plan in the Smart Coach feature is available to all Zepp app users, even those without a sensor.

As users complete training programs to perfect their swings, Zepp makes it simple to post progress, upload photos, custom captions, and share across social media channels. App users can be part of a larger community in the Zepp 2 news feed within the app to share and view other player and professional athlete data.

Zepp 2 is also a great tool for coaches of baseball, softball, and golf, allowing them to manage players, track their improvement, and show their athletes their swing in a way they’ve never seen it before. A new addition exclusive to baseball-softball is the ‘Track Your Season’ feature that can be utilized by individual players as well as coaches to see how individuals are progressing.

Zepp 2 also features an improved form factor. The sensor’s circular shape was chosen to drive the future of sports, allowing the sensor to be embedded into sporting equipment for baseball, softball, golf, and a variety of other sports. This new silhouette houses a battery that lasts up to eight hours, includes two accelerometers, two gyroscopes and Bluetooth LE for greater accuracy throughout the experience. Zepp recently announced the Mike Trout Old Hickory

Smart Bat Powered by Zepp, which is just the first in a series of exciting announcements to come. As with the previous generation Zepp sensor, it all starts with a swing. Zepp Baseball-Softball 2 attaches to the handle of the bat with the provided mount to capture bat speed, hand speed, attack angle, time-to-impact, and bat angle. When using Zepp Golf 2, players attach the sensor to the golf glove to track club speed, club plane, hand plane, backswing position, tempo and hip rotation. Each swing can be instantly reviewed in 3D from any angle for both sports to analyze the most critical metrics that can be compared to the pros. Additionally, Zepp’s auto-video capture can record swings in HD to reference against the data for yet another vantage point.

Zepp 2 is now available for golf and baseball-softball for $149.99 at Zepp.com and leading retailers. Zepp 2 includes the sensor, sport specific mount and magnetic charger. Additional mounts are available for purchase separately. The Zepp 2 app and sensors are compatible with both iOS and Android.
