Of the 100 players on our list, 69 of them remain uncommitted at the time of this piece. Put another way, 31 of these freshmen already know where they will be playing college softball before they play a pitch of their high school season!

A majority of the uncommitted players make up the bottom 50 of the list, with only 25 uncommitted players in the top 50. Interestingly enough, four of the top 10 remain uncommitted: No. 2 Zaida Puni of OC Batbusters - Campbell, No. 3 Avery Goelz of Tampa Mustangs - TJ, No. 6 Riley Blampied of Georgia Impact - Newland, and No. 8 Camryn Wincher of Stingers Gold.

Like our previous rankings, battery players outnumber other position players with pitchers and catchers making up 44% of the list. However, the disproportionate amount of battery players isn't seen in the top 10. Only one pitcher, No. 9 Nicole May, and one catcher, Chooch Carroll, cracked our top 10.

The 2020 Hot 100 players spread evenly across different regions of the country. As usual, California brought in the most players with 30. Texas' 13 players put the Lonestar State (and home of FloSoftball) in second just ahead of Georgia and Indiana, both of which boast 11 players. Overall, players hailing from club teams representing 19 different states comprise the full Hot 100 list.

Similar to our 2019 Hot 100 Breakdown, OC Batbusters - Campbell reigns as the club with the most commits, tying with the Beverly Bandits Harms/Harkness team with five commits each. Seven club teams tied for second with the commits at three apiece. Overall, our 2020 Hot 100 list represents 63 different club teams.

From our list, it seems as though the SEC and Pac 12 like to recruit young. Both conferences pulled in the most players with nine each. The Big 12 was just behind the lead with seven players, and the Big Ten came in fourth with five. The ACC, however, doesn't seem to be in a hurry to commit before high school, grabbing only one player from our list.

Of the 31 players committed at this point, none of them are committed to a conference outside of the Big 5.

The Big 12 as a conference may not have had the most commits, but the national champs tie for first with the most players. Both Oklahoma and Arizona recruited the most Hot 100 players with five. Six other schools representing the SEC, Pac 12, and Big Ten tied for second with two commits each.

On a related note, Oklahoma will have the No.1 Hot 100 player in the 2020, 2019, and 2018 classes if Brooke Vestal remains our No. 1 player in the class of 2018. Auburn has the No. 1 in the class of 2017 with Taylon Snow.
