The Akron Racers right fielder A.J. Andrews makes history as the first female athlete to receive Rawling's Gold Glove Award. Her outstanding playmaking abilities would not go unnoticed as she was given a standing ovation at Gold Gloves Awards.

A.J. Andrews Becomes the First Woman to Receive Rawlings Gold Glove
The Akron Racers right fielder A.J. Andrews makes history as the first female athlete to receive Rawling's Gold Glove Award. Her outstanding playmaking abilities would not go unnoticed as she was given a standing ovation at Gold Gloves Awards.

In her Gold Glove speech, Andrews says,
The significance of this award is unmeasurable not only to me but to women in sports and softball players because it allows new dreams to form. It allows girls to have more things to look forward to.

The National Professional Fastpitch league made headlines earlier this year when the Scrap Yard Dawgs, a first year franchise signed pitcher Monica Abbott to the first million dollar contract.
