FloSoftball continues our look at the Class of 2019 as we update the Hot 100 for the current sophomore class. We're spotlighting 10 each day on the countdown from 100 to No. 1.

The Top 10 prospects of the class will be announced on Friday, February 3 and shortly after we will profile the No. 1 player, the "Next In (101-200)," recruits "On The Bubble (201-300)" and finally the "Top College Rankings" for the '19 class.

Since we first released the 2019 Hot 100 a year ago at this time, there has been a lot of changes as players have emerged as nationally prominent recruits.  In fact, 39 of the players in this second version are new!

These sophomore standouts were chosen based on input and feedback from college and club coaches who've seen them play across the nation.

Criteria for choosing and ranking the players including performances at the club and high school levels and projecting how they will play at the collegiate level.

Today we feature players No. 90 to 81 who come from Arkansas, California (4), Georgia, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Tennessee and Texas (2).

null

90--Sydnee Huff… SS/2B Corona Angels (Stanford)null
Sydnee has lead-off speed and power to be able to hit in the 2, 3 or 4 spots in the line-up and has batted in the top four of the Angels' line-up for three consecutive years. She hit .362 in 84 games with Marty Tyson's 14U team that finished second in 2016 at PGF Nationals and led the team with a .444 average during the PGF run. A Pac-12 caliber athlete because of her athletic skills, fiery competitive attitude and great range as a middle infielder, Sydnee also showed her offensive skills as a freshman at Yucaipa (California) High as she hit .423 with 13 RBI and 39 runs scored. She is the first player from the storied Angels program to attend Stanford, a goal she worked hard to achieve on the field and in the classroom. She recently moved up to the 18U Gold team as well.

T-89--Abigail Knight OF/IF… Lady Lightning (Virginia Tech)null
Abigail is the type of player who is the heartbeat of the team. One coach said of her, "She is the player that everyone wants at the plate when the game is on the line. A lefty hitter, she does everything with the bat. Athletic and smart--her father is her coach at Robbinsville (North Carolina) High--she gives her team a chance to win because of her excellent skills in the field, on the bases and at the plate. As a freshman, she earned 1A All-State honors after batting .610, which included a 22-game hitting streak, 19 RBI and 25 steals.

T-89--Kinley Stewart OF/1B… Georgia Impact -- Stewart (Georgia Tech)null
Kinley's strength is her versatility as she can play multiple positions and does everything well. Daughter of Impact club coach Jon Stewart, she has a high softball IQ and good instincts. She always puts the bat on the ball and rarely strikes out. Defensively, she has a strong arm and is deadly in the outfield in nailing runners trying to steal an extra base. Kinley is a clutch player and showed this when she hit two home runs (including a grand slam) to help her Archer (Georgia) High team clinch the top seed for the Regional tournament this past fall. She chose to stay in-state and play for the Yellow Jackets when she committed in December 2015 despite interest from ACC, Pac-12 and SEC programs.

88--Nia Carter OF… Corona Angels (Louisville)null
Nia has been the leadoff batter and sparkplug for the Angels-Slye/Tyson teams for three straight years and has hit over .400 all three seasons. Despite being 5-foot-1, she is a strong power-slapper and triple threat and was the table-setter for Marty Tyson's team which finished 2nd at PGF 14U Nationals. For the club season, she put up impressive numbers, batting .405 with only eight strikeouts in 94 games and led the team with 75 runs scored. Nia had equal success as a high school freshman, earning 1st Team All-Area honors as she hit .456 with 18 RBI and 22 runs scored in 26 games at St. Paul High in Santa Fe Springs, California.

87--Sona Halajian P/UT… Cal Nuggets-Woods (Cal-Berkeley)null
Sona is a 5-foot-9 pitcher who was instrumental in helping Haley Woods' Nuggets team to a 5th place finish at last summer's PGF 16U Nationals. She continued her summer success with a strong fall as she compiled a 1.45 ERA while hitting .476 with a .879 slugging percentage. The Marin, California sophomore is set to emerge as one of the top power-pitchers in the nation as she throws between 65-68 mph and has been clocked as high as 69 mph. But the right-hander's best pitches are her complementary change and drop-ball. She is a two-way threat on the mound and in the box and is a fierce competitor who, as one coach put it, "is a horse with a great build and attitude and willingness to put the team on her back."

86--Josie Willingham SS/C… TN Fury Platinum (Tennessee)null
Josie is an excellent athlete who can play both catcher and shortstop at a high level because of her very strong arm and quickness. She was recruited by high level D1 programs at both positions and had been highly recruited since the eighth grade before committing to Tennessee last summer. Playing 16U this past year as a 14-year-old, Jose batted .363 and was 10-for-10 in steals. As a freshman at Jackson (Tennessee) South Side High, she hit .468 with five home runs, 34 RBI and a stellar fielding percentage of .984 on 126 total chances. The lifelong Vols fan also plays varsity basketball.

85--Vanessa Oatley P… Rhode Island Thunder (Penn State)null
Vanessa continues to rank as one of the elite pitchers in the East where she's been dominating since age 12. A lefty who throws in the low to mid-60's, she continues to add speed and strength and is now working on a curve-rise along with her screwball she just started throwing in the fall. The screw has given Vanessa a pitch breaking in the opposite direction and helped her have a strong fall after she shined in the summer after winning the championship at the Pennsbury (Pennslyvania) Showcase in her first outing with the Thunder. In the spring, Vanessa took 1st Team All-State honors in Rhode Island after compiling a sub-1.00 ERA and batting .498. She committed to Penn State in the fall of her eighth grade year (fall 2014).

T-85 Macy Ratliff OF/UT… Texas Glory-Adkins/Ratliff (uncommitted)null
Macy is a smart, aggressive slapper with excellent speed--2.64 home-to-first and 11.2 home-to-home--but also has solid power and uses her speed to frequently stretch singles into doubles and triples. In the field she's usually lined up in centerfield since covers a ton of ground in the outfield. Macy has quick hands and the mobility to play infield, especially in the middle of the defense.  She comes from a strong softball family as her sister is a 2017 signee to Arkansas and her father, Mark, is her coach in the Glory-Adkins/Ratliff organization.  A great all-around athlete, she averaged in double figures in hoops and in track finished in the top 3 in the state in the 100m, 200m, 4x100 relay, long jump and triple jump. Macy was an Arkansas 2A All-State softball pick and led her team to its first District title in school history. Though uncommitted, the sophomore is being recruited by ACC, Pac-12 and SEC schools.

84--Amanda Desario OF… Texas Glory-Shelton (Texas Tech)null
Amanda is an excellent athlete with great speed and a rocket for an arm. She was the centerfielder for the Keller High team that won the Texas 6A title and hit .492 with a .532 on-base percentage. Her strong first year of prep ball earned her the District Freshman of the Year honor as well as the Dallas-Ft. Worth Freshman of the Year award and a spot on the State All-Tournament team. A triple threat at the plate, Amanda plays with great confidence that she conveys to her teammates and she is a sparkplug who sets the table for the big bats that follow her. She committed to the Red Raiders on November 1 of last year.

83--Olivia Rains P/OF… OC Batbusters-Stith (Oklahoma)null
After successful stints with two other powerhouse club programs--Jersey Intensity and Texas Glory--Olivia moves to Mike Stith's OC Batbuster team which has won PGF 18U National Championships two of the last three years. She'll be part of one of the best staffs in all of club ball as she joins two other 2019s who are Hot 100 candidates: Farrah Steffany (Arizona commit) and Alanna Thiede (Oklahoma).  Olivia is a mature pitcher who is strong and throws everything hard down. She's used to being a workhorse, but should thrive in her new role of sharing time. Olivia is 5-foot-10 and throws in the mid-60's with the frame to get bigger and stronger. She was an Oklahoma All-State pick and Tulsa All-World selection for Pryor High as she led her team to the 5A state title and finished the year 30-10 with a 1.05 ERA and 293 K's in 235 innings. She also batted .393 with 24 RBI.

82--Cait Calland C… Texas Bombers Gold (Texas)null
Cait reminds some scouts and coaches of former Texas Longhorn catcher Mandy Ogle who also came from the Bombers program. Like Ogle, you see her athleticism every time she is on the field. Cait has an electric arm and is a rock behind the plate, but what makes her unique as a catcher is that she hits and slaps from the left side and is an outstanding base stealer.  She's also skilled at handling pitching staffs and her extremely good glove work helps erase a lot of her hurlers' mistakes. She also has pop in her bat as shown by her hitting a home run last July in the Bombers championship of the ASA 16U Gold Nationals. Cait earned 2nd Team Texas All-District 19-6A last spring as well.

81--Ivana Perez OF… So Cal Athletics-Briggs (Oregon State)null
Ivana is new to the talent-laden So Cal A's organization but has already impressed and shown she can play with the best. The sophomore from Fullerton, California has speed, good arm strength and communicates well on the field. Ivana is a right-handed batter with pop in the bat and as one coach put it, "She really swings it--when she goes, she goes." Ivana plays with passion and, though not as nationally known as some of the other top players in the country, her ceiling is high and her skill level is off the charts. Add to that her passion for the game and her desire to work hard and improve and you have a player who should make an early impact in the Pac-12.
