The Easton Invitational opened with LMU vs North Dakota State and Utah State vs Pacific.

LMU vs. NDSU

LMU got on the board first when Alex Finie crushed a double past the centerfielder Madyson Camacho scoring Amanda Dirks and Alicia Brown. The Lions were up 2-0.

NDSU broke up the lead when Bre Beatty hit a solo shot to left center. The Bison put up another run in the third to tie it up 2-2.

LMU blew open the game in the fifth when Mackenzie Kutzke and Aria Pogni stepped up with huge RBI singles putting the Lions up 5- 2.

The Bison left 11 runners on base. The Lions were able to close out the game without giving up another run.

LMU vs. Ole Miss

LMU split the day dropping a pitcher's duel against Ole Miss. LMU's pitcher Hannah Bandimere held the Rebels scoreless until the third when Kylan Becker power slapped a solo home run over the center field fence.

Ole Miss' pitcher Kaitlin Lee threw a shutout only allowing one bloop hit. The junior transfer was impressive on the mound commanding the strike zone and attacking hitters.

Rebels left fielder Elantra Cox would drive in another run to seal the win for Ole Miss 2-0.

Utah State vs. Pacific

Utah State is off to a terrific start going 2-0 on opening day. Down by two runs in the bottom of the fifth against Pacific, the Aggies answered back quickly when Victoria Saucedo crushed a solo shot to left.

After an error and stolen base, Amanda Sheets capitalized with an RBI double to tie the game up 2-2.

In the top of the sixth, the Tigers wasted no time responding when Syd Lahners homered to center putting Pacific up 3-2.

Things fell apart for Pacific when Sydney Hart got the offense going with an RBI single scoring two runs. Amee Aarhus continued to apply pressure to the defense reaching on an error and adding another run on top of an unearned run winning 5-3.

Utah State vs. North Dakota

Utah State and North Dakota State went down to the wire as they went into extra innings in the night cap. The game remained scoreless until the sixth inning. NDSU drew first blood when Montana DeCamp singled to right center with runners on second and third to drive in one run.

Aggies first baseman Paxton Provost soon singled down the right field line scoring Jazmin Clarke to tie the game 1-1. 

In the eighth inning, the game went into international tie breaker. Utah State scored on a wild pitch to end the game.

The Easton Invitational continues with great match-ups Saturday and Sunday.
