Goose On The Loose During Illinois Softball Game
Two college softball teams got goose'd this week.

A wild and meandering Canadian goose in the outfield interrupted a game between the University of Illinois and Illinois State on Thursday. There was a momentary delay while the players figured out a way to convince said goose from leaving the field of play.

That was not as easy as it seems. The goose even demurred when someone rolled a softball its way. Geese persevere, evidently.

The goose did eventually fly away. Under its own accord. The game resumed and Illinois won, 5-3.

Perhaps a new mascot will be in the offing for the Fighting Illini. And hopefully the goose does not act in the same way as a black cat for Illinois State.
