FloSoftball continues our look at the class of 2018 as we update the Hot 100 over the next two weeks, spotlighting 10 or more outstanding players each day on the way to the unveiling of the No. 1 player and the top 2018 recruiting classes on Tuesday, November 7.

This list is an updated version of our initial 2018 Hot 100 rankings, and 20 of the honorees will be new to the list after our last version published in December 2016.

After the top 100 is finalized, FloSoftball will shortly thereafter profile the No. 1 player and then list the "next in" classes comprising recruits Nos. 101-200, 201-300, 301-400, and 401-500!

FloSoftball has ranked the Hot 100 beginning with the 2014 class and has done every grad year since including 2015, '16, '17, '18, '19, '20, and '21. We've also updated most of those years several times.

These 2018 honorees were chosen based on input and feedback from college and club coaches as well as our own FloSoftball event and in-person observations. Criteria for choosing and ranking the players includes performances at the club and high school levels and projecting how they will play at the collegiate level.

null

null80 | Shelby Walters P/1B | Tennessee Fury Platinum (Duke)
Walters saw tremendous success in the circle for her Tennessee Fury team as a finesse pitcher who can locate the ball well and complements her movement with a good off-speed. At her Girls Preparatory School in Chattanooga, TN, Walters posted an impressive 1.10 ERA as a junior, including four no-hitters and two perfect games earning her all-state Division II honors. Last summer with the Fury, Walters threw 14 shutout games including six no-hitters. When not in the circle, she can hit for power as well as play the field. Shelby will join the Duke Blue Devils next fall.

null79 | Amani Bradley OF | Corona Angels (Cal-Berkeley)
Bradley is an outstanding all-around athlete with a lot of championship experience entering into her final high school season. She is a triple threat at the plate who can effectively use both the short game and power to keeps the defense on edge. An all-league selection at Vista Murrieta High School, Bradley hit over .400 while swiping 20 bases. Her quickness on the base paths transfers well into her outfield play as she is able to cover more ground than the average athlete. Bradley has decided to remain in California and take her talents north to Berkeley.

null78 | C.J. Landrum, OF | Scrap Yard Dawgs (Georgia)
Landrum is a versatile player who can change the game both offensively and defensively with her speed and athleticism. Daughter of former MLB athlete Ced Landrum, Landrum boasts a blazing 2.6 down the line and for the second consecutive year won the "Fastest at the Fourth" competition at the Colorado Sparkler. The three-sport varsity athlete at Fort Worth Country Day High School was also one of 30 players invited to the USA junior women's national team selection camp in Clearwater, FL. Landrum entertained several offers from top-level Division I programs before committing to play at Georgia next fall.

null77 | Haley Simpson, OF | East Cobb Bullets - Schnute (South Carolina)
After missing the 2016 season with a torn ACL, Simpson came back this year with a vengeance and showed she had returned to her pre-injury form. The 6-foot-1 center fielder is a five-tool athlete and even post-injury has been clocked in the 2.6 range home-to-first. The Georgia senior batted .341 for her North Forsyth (Cumming, GA) High team this fall with a .451 on-base percentage, and will be moving up from Andrew Biele's 16U Gold team to play with EC Bullets 18 Gold squad this season coached by Greg Schnute. A standout athlete who has been all-county in track and played varsity basketball, she's focusing now on her softball career and should be an impact player once she puts on the Gamecock uniform.

null76 | Brianna Jewett, UT | Firecrackers - Rico (Harvard)
Jewett is a new addition to the list and isn't a household name as she's backed up two premier pitchers at the high school and club levels. The first was Ryan Denhart (MD), who was the ace for Los Alamitos (CA) High, the No. 1-ranked team in the final FAB 50 High School rankings after the Griffins knocked off previous top-ranked Norco to win the CIF SS title; the second was Brooke Vestal (OK), the ace for the Firecrackers who helped Tony Rico's team win the PGF 18U Nationals crown in 2016. But don't discount Jewett, who goes by "Bri," as she is a talented location pitcher with good hard stuff and off-speed pitches. The 5-8 SoCal senior helped the Firecrackers go on runs this summer to win in Colorado and at the Canada Cup and will pitch a lot for the always loaded Firecrackers this year as well as Rob Weil's Los Al High School team.

75 | Riley Kuderca, OF/SS | OC Batbusters - Stith (Arizona)
Mike Stith's Batbuster program has long been a pipeline of talent to Arizona -- pitcher Taylor McQuillin and outfielder Alyssa Palomino being two of the more recent standouts. Kuderca could be the next great one to play for Mike Candrea. A former gymnast, the California senior is very quick and has great fast-twitch muscles with her only drawback being that she doesn't have the softball experience most in her class have. Still, coaches marvel at her high ceiling and feel that once she learns the game, her speed and off-the-chart work ethic should make her a star at the next level. Her skills allow her to take advantage of any game situation as she can bounce the ball or drive it in the gaps and in 25 games for her Patterson (CA) High team this year she had 44 hits, six of which were triples, a .537 average with 33 steals and 35 RBIs. Kucerca verbally committed to the Wildcats in October of 2015.

null74 | Madison Jatzlau, MIF/OF | Texas Blaze (Texas A&M)
No doubt that Jatzlau is a speedster on the bases. She swiped 34 bags last season at Giddings High School while batting .385 with a .435 on-base percentage. Jatzlau also touched home 51 times last season. On defense, she made only two errors the entire season. Jatzlau has the versatility to play middle infield and outfield. Her speed and quickness sets her apart on defense. Tracking balls down in the infield and outfield seems effortless for Jatzlau. She will sign with Texas A&M.

null73 | Lexi Wagner, OF | Beverly Bandits DeMarini - Alvelo (uncommitted)
Wagner makes the Hot 100 for the third year in a row after first-team all-state, first-team All-WPIAL, and player of the year honors. Last season, she led Seton LaSalle High School in home runs (11). Wagner continued her hitting barrage into IDT Boulder where she hit six home runs in 20 at-bats. Named to the USSSA Select 30 National team, Wagner's bat was undeniable as she went 3 of 4 during the all-star game. Wager decommitted from Pitt and will be announcing her new commitment soon.

null72 | Alyssa Pinto, OF/1B | Firecrackers - Rico (Oregon)
Pinto embodies the essence of what it means to be a travel ball player. The child of a military parent, she has played for Bandits - Tyrrell, Texas Bombers Gold and now Firecrackers Rico. Offense is the strongest part of her game. A switch hitter, she can either lay down a drag to beat the throw or go yard. Pinto has won PGF Nationals with the Firecrackers. She's won back-to-back state titles in two different states. Pinto will be a brilliant player to watch as she continues her career at the University of Oregon.

null71 | Madison Pacini, C/OF | So Cal Choppers - Fausett (Tennessee)
Pacini had a fantastic junior year at Bonita Vista batting .523 with 11 home runs and 41 RBIs. She has been playing at the 18U level ever since she verbally committed to Tennessee in the 8th grade. Pacini was named a FloSoftball All-American, All-League Metro Mesa, All San Diego CIF, and 2016 Bonita Vista Underclassman Sportswoman of the Year. A multi-sport athlete, Pacini possesses the tools to be exceptional at the collegiate level.
