Signing Day Spotlight: Baylee Klingler

No. 4 recruit Baylee Klingler was flying under the radar until she made the USA junior national team. Klingler tried out among hundreds of applicants and earned a spot on the illustrious squad. Not only did she make the team, she was a key RBI producer eventually earning a starting position in the infield.

Aggie fans may be watching a future All-American, freshman of the year, or maybe an Olympian.

Did you ever think this day signing with your dream school would come?

No! It seems like I committed so long ago (well I actually did). So it has seemed like it has taken forever to get here. But, I am excited that it finally is.

Where will you be signing your Letter of Intent this week?

I will be signing my NLI to Texas A&M

Will it be a big occasion or more low-key?

It is pretty big. I am blessed that my family, friends, teammates, and coaches are able to attend.

Will you do anything to celebrate the big day?

My family will probably go out to eat after . . . then honestly, I will probably go to my workouts that evening. LOL.

What date did you actually commit and how long ago was it?

I actually committed to Texas A&M in the spring of my 8th-grade year. So, 2014.

What highlight stands out to you about the recruiting process?

I enjoyed getting to see all the different campuses and meet some amazing people. It was a lot of fun.

What was the "aha" moment when you knew the program was the right one for you?

Honestly, I just love the tradition of Texas A&M. I have always followed the school, but I felt like I really fit in there. I loved the coaching staff and the girls and I know that the education and softball is awesome.

What will signing with your dream school mean to you personally and to those who've been part of your success (family, coaches, teammates, etc.)?

Signing to my dream school will mean that I am one step closer to achieving my dreams. It will also serve as a reminder that hard work and dedication pay off. I have had an amazing support system. My parents are my number one fans and have been with me every step of the way. I am also blessed to have amazing coaches and teammates. This is a big day for us all.

How much gear/product do you have of your future school?

Honestly, my whole closet is Texas A&M gear. I have been committed so long that I think I have just about everything A&M that you can think of.

What's next for you and your softball plans?

I will just continue to work hard and be ready to hit the ground running when I get to A&M. I am planning on still pursuing Team USA even though I am young. The junior women's national team was an experience of a lifetime. I was blessed to be around such amazing coaches and players. And I still have my high school season and playing with my select team Texas Impact.
