Body Of Softball Player Emma Pangelinan Discovered In Mission Viejo

The body of 13-year-old Emma Pangelinan was found at Pinecrest Park in Mission Viejo, California, on Monday. Pangelinan had been missing since Sunday afternoon.

A beautiful and bright young player for Batbusters Shockey, Pangelinan attended weekly fielding sessions at the Workshop in Anaheim, California with Morgan Stuart of the Packaged Deal and was a slugger on Batbusters Shockey.

"We can now confirm that the body discovered today in the heavy brush area surrounding Pinecrest Park in Mission Viejo is missing juvenile Emma Pangelinan," an Orange County Sheriff's Department spokesperson said.

"At this time the death does not appear suspicious. A full investigation and autopsy will be conducted by the OC Coroner's Office. We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Pangelinan family and friends."

Her body was discovered at around noon Monday.

The softball community mourns the loss of Emma Pangelinan. Our prayers go out to her family and friends who were affected by this tragedy.

Tony Rico, president of Firecracker Softball, wrote on Facebook: "We are deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Emma Pangelinan, who played for Firecrackers Holcomb-Knight last year and was a Batbuster this year. Please keep her family in your prayers. A beautiful life ended way too soon."

This Sunday the Batbuster Organization, Coach Enquist, Tony Rico & others to celebrate the life of Emma and to have an open discussion & guidance session for softball families. Anyone and everyone in the softball community is invited.

To all of our Batbusters Families and all of our Softball Community,

It has been a very difficult week as we all have learned of the loss of one of our incredible young ladies Emma Pangelinan.

As we pray for strength and peace for the family we as a community would like to support and honor Emma’s memory by holding a memorial service and a time of discussion and support for all of our young ladies as they cope with the heartache and confusion this tragedy has presented.
Sue Enquist, Tony Rico, Jen Schroeder and several leaders of our Softball Community will join with us and gather with all who wish to attend a memorial and an open discussion service to help answer questions and hopefully provide guidance on how we can all protect and care for our young ladies that we spend so much time supporting and rooting for.

Come as you are to help support the memory of Emma and help provide strength and understanding for all of our young ladies during this difficult time.

The service will be held Sunday January 28th at 1:00 PM
