After contacting every junior college coach in the nation, conducting extensive research, and measuring the top junior college programs, we are very happy to recognize the first JUCO Hot 100.

Many of these sophomores will go on to play at four-year universities and will likely be key contributors for high- or mid-major programs in 2019. Strong and competitive at their respective positions, these talented athletes hailed from all over the country.

50 | DJ Cannon, P/UT | Hutchinson CC (Univ. of Missouri-Kansas City)

Cannon is a big-time lefty pitcher who led the Blue Dragons to their first appearance in the Region VI Tournament since 1987. She finished 2017 as a first-team All-Jayhawk East and Region VI selection after posting an 18-9 record with 194 strikeouts and 20 complete games. She was named a preseason Fastpitch News NJCAA DII All-American before the start of the season, in which she is currently 16-4 with a 1.99 ERA and averaging over eight strikeouts an outing.

49 | Rebecca Snow, OF | Tyler (Louisiana Tech)

The native Texan was both an NFCA and NJCAA All-American for coach Maria Winn-Ratliff and the Apaches as well as the Region 14 East Zone Co-Player of the Year. Carrying a .388 batting average, 15 doubles, and 41 RBIs, she has Tyler on track to make a return trip to Utah.

48 | Kyrstan Garcia, P | Central Arizona

This returning all-conference performer had a solid freshman campaign, 29-6 overall on the mound with 127 strikeouts while hitting .386 with three home runs and 22 RBIs. The Vaqueros finished 52-11 and found themselves in the hunt for a national championship after winning the Region 1 tournament last April with Garcia leading the way. Central Arizona finds itself fighting a tough battle in one of the top regions in the country. We will see if the 20-game winner Garcia has enough magic left to make it through the playoffs.

47 | Logan Wenzel, P | Cowley County

A Wichita native, Wenzel finished her freshman season second in the NJCAA with 32 wins on the year (32-6) while being named a first-team all-conference and all-region performer and a second-team NJCAA All-American. Wenzel (14-5 record) helped the eighth-ranked Tigers win their second consecutive Jayhawk Conference Eastern Division title in 2018 and will make a run to Mississippi for the NJCAA DII Championships in May.

46 | Mima Doucet, IF | LSU Eunice

After a solid freshman season, Doucet is one of the strongest sophomores on the NJCAA DII's second-ranked team. Through 51 games, she has posted a .451 batting average with 29 stolen bases while smashing 24 doubles and recording 39 RBIs.

45 | Taylor Makowsky, P | Northeastern Oklahoma A&M

The 6-foot-1 transfer from Tomball spent her freshman year with the University of Iowa Hawkeyes before heading to NEO and making an immediate impact in 2018. With a 16-4 record and a 2.16 ERA, Makowsky is averaging close to eight strikeouts per game. At the plate, she is hitting a .360 with four home runs and 29 RBIs.

44 | Maddie Massanelli, P | Crowder College

A returning NJCAA Third-Team All-American, the right-handed Massanelli from Rogers, Arkansas, is again leading the charge for Crowder, sporting a 21-3 record. The 41-10 Roughriders are currently on an 11-game winning streak to finish up their regular season.

43 | Jade Montgomery, P | Wabash Valley

Montgomery posted a 22-4 record during her freshman year and was named a first-team All-Great Rivers Athletic Conference and Region XXI performer. This season, she has compiled a 22-2 record while tallying 148 strikeouts and a 1.37 ERA. The only thing missing from Montgomery’s trophy shelf is an All-American honor and a plaque from the NJCAA National Championships. Will she pick up both honors this year?

42 | Kelsha Loftin, OF | Jones County

Fastpitchnews.com listed Loftin as an All-American following her incredible freshman year. Her .515 batting average was tops on a team laden with sophomore experience. She racked up 85 hits, scored 83 runs, and knocked in 57 RBIs of her own. So far in 2018, she has swiped 50 of 51 stolen base attempts and leads the team in runs scored (63) for the NJCAA DII fifth-ranked Bobcats (41-3).

41| Mikenzie Vaughn, IF | Florida Southwestern (Florida Gulf Coast)

During the 2017 season, Vaughn was recognized as second-team All-Suncoast, hitting .364 with 68 RBIs and 18 doubles. In the Region tournament and World Series, the Kennesaw, GA, native shined even brighter, picking up a Region 8 all-tournament team honor along with an NJCAA Division I Championship all-tournament team nod. She leads the second-ranked Bucs in batting average in 2018 (.479) heading in to Region VIII Tournament play on May 3-6.
