The opening day of the Women's College World Series on Thursday in Oklahoma City had everything from a pitcher's duel to a slugfest to a late-inning, come-from-behind victory. Here are the top five moments: 

Washington Aces Gabby Plain & Taran Alvelo Shut Out The Sooners

Washington stunned Oklahoma in a 2-0 victory on day one of the WCWS, starting freshman Gabbie Plain then closing with Taran Alvelo. Plain allowed only two baserunners aboard in 5.2 innings of work. Trysten Melhart scored the first run for the Huskies, sliding home on a Sis Bates bunt to Paige Lowary. Julia DePonte drove in the second run of the game to score Kelly Burdick. 


UCLA's Kylee Perez 3-Run Bomb Seals The Win Over FSU

With the Bruins' backs against the wall in the bottom of the sixth trailing by two runs, senior Kylee Perez crushed a three-run home run over the right-center-field fence to take the lead in a 7-4 win.


Florida Dominates Georgia 

An absolute slugfest ensued during Florida's 11-3 win over Georgia, with five home runs blasted out of the park by the Gators and Bulldogs. Florida compiled seven hits, including three home runs by Hannah Adams, Jordan Roberts, and Aleshia Ocasio.
