Sophomore Catcher Mary Iakopo Transfers To Texas

Well, we were wrong about the rumors.

After seven weeks in the NCAA Transfer Portal, sophomore catcher Mary Iakopo found a new home at the University of Texas. She joins teammates Miranda Elish, Lauren Burke, and Shannon Rhodes.

On November 6th, Iakopo put her name on the transfer portal becoming the third player to leave Oregon at the time. Former teammates Miranda Elish, Lauren Burke, and Shannon Rhodes transferred to the University of Texas under the guidance of Mike White in the last couple of months.

Senior ace Megan Kleist recently made her decision to transfer to the University of Louisiana to join her old coach, Mike Roberts. Freshman Alyssa Pinto will be heading to Ole Miss.

Iakopo was named Second Team All-Pac 12 after hitting 8 home runs with 37 RBI and a .306 batting average.
