After four days of incredible fastpitch competition, the Top Gun Invitational ended on Sunday, June 16, with seven teams celebrating a championship. The crown jewel of Top Gun Events, more than 200 teams in the 18U, 16U, 14U and 12U divisions competed in this elite level fastpitch tournament. 

“I truly believe all the planning and detail to attention for this event has resulted in its climb to the top of the recruiting events,” said Robb Behymer, founder of Top Gun Events. “Nowhere was that more evident than in the level of competition the fans saw regardless of where they were at during the weekend.”

In a close game that came down to the wire, Select Fastpitch 18U defeated Gametime Stars 18U Gold 2-1 to win the 18U Maverick Division. Texas Glory 16U Naudin battled the South Dakota Renegades 2003 Gold to take home the 16U Maverick Division title with a final score of 6-3. 14U Texas Glory Naudin brought home the 14U Maverick Division championship with a 4-0 victory over the Tulsa Elite Ark 04, giving them back-to-back championships in the division. The Oklahoma Athletics 2024 won the 12U Maverick Division with a 2-0 final score over the Aces Fastpitch Club NWA 12U. 

New to the 2019 tournament was the Viper Division, which opened up the invitational tournament to even more teams looking to compete at the highest level. In the Viper Division, the Illinois Force 16U won 9-6 over Team Kansas-Taylor in 16Us and the MN Waves 04 defeated Oklahoma Steele 04 in 14Us. PSA 18-Patterson and PSA 18-Messer were scheduled to meet up in the 18U Viper Division finals but chose to not play the game out. 

More than 150 collegiate coaches were on hand throughout the weekend watching the games and scouting new players to add to their respective rosters.
