Epic Battles Ensued Day One Of PGF 14U Premier Nationals
Day one of 14U PGF Premier Nationals opened with a 25-run game and top contenders knocked into the loser's bracket.
Corona Angels-Perez and Tampa Mustangs-Rene engaged in an epic back-and-forth battle before the Angels pulled out a wild 13-12 victory in the second round of the winner's bracket at the PGF 14U Premier Nationals on Wednesday night at Huntington Beach Sports Complex.

The Corona Angels led 6-1 at one point and fell behind 11-6 before Arianna Ramirez's heroics with two outs in the bottom of the seventh gave the Angels the walk-off victory.
Victoria Prado had an RBI single and Brooklyn Scott drove in Ayellad Howard with a groundout to short in the bottom of the sixth to help the Corona Angels tie it, 12-12.
Dhalia Palacio came through with a two-out double and scored the game-winner on Ramirez's single, giving the Corona Angels the victory.
"We came out hitting and then they got ahold of the ball, we made some errors, but we came back," Ramirez said. "There were a lot of clutch hits and we ended up winning."
Ramirez went 2 for 3 with a run and three RBIs, Mikalah Nitta went 3 for 5 with a double, four runs and an RBI, Samantha Bland went 2 for 4 with two runs scored, Palacio went 2 for 5 with three runs and an RBI and Victoria Prado went 2 for 4 with two RBIs to lead Corona Angels 15-hit attack.
DaNia Brooks went 3 for 5 with three runs and an RBI, Kerissa Howell went 2 for 3 with three runs and an RBI, Riley Onisawa went 2 for 4 with fives RBIs and Karsyn France went 3 for 4 with three RBIs for the Mustangs, who had 14 hits.
Mike Perez's Corona Angels beat American Freedom Express-Legg, 4-0, in the first round of the double-elimination tournament earlier in the day.
The Corona Angels advanced to the third round of Winner's Bracket A where they face OC Batbusters-Campbell/K. Stith on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Oklahoma Hotshots-Yeatts 12, Georgia Impact-Barfield 3
Bella Cabral went 2 for 4 with two doubles and three RBIs, Chloe Yeatts went 2 for 4 with two doubles and two RBIs, Jordan Ramsay went 1 for 4 with two RBIs, Lily West went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and Nyjah Fontenol went 2 for 2 with a double, and RBI and four runs scored to power the Hotshots.
Lady Dukes-Lamar 4, OC Batbusters-Gonzalez 2
Rita Nuss went 3 for 4 with two RBIs as the Lady Dukes took down the Batbusters.
So Cal Athletics-Limo 5, Cal Nuggets-Woods 1
Hannah Allen and Ashley Corpuz homered to lift the So Cal A's.
Sorcerer-Schroll 8, CA Yard Sharks 2022-Lopez 2
Mickey Winchell and Jenissa Conway both went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, Kaylee Grealy went 2 for 2 with a double and three runs scored and Karolyn Glover doubled, scored two runs and drove in three runs to pace Sorcerer. Conway allowed five hits, two runs, and seven walks to go along with two strikeouts to get the complete-game win for Sorcerer.
Mojo 04-Fisher 4, Rhode Island Thunder 0
Keagan Rothrock allowed one hit and struck out eight in five innings and Emma Langston allowed two hits and struck out two in two innings to combine on the shutout for the Mojo.
In Winner's Bracket A second-round games:
Gainesville Gold-McFadyen 8, Oklahoma Athletics-Madden 7
Madison Hewett singled to center field to drive in two runs and Jayden Martinez delivered an RBI to score the go-ahead run during a three-run rally in the bottom of the sixth to help Gainesville pull out the win.
Oklahoma Hotshots-Yeatts 9, So Cal Athletics-Medina/Briggs 8
Brooklynn Bockhaus had an RBI single, Chloe Yeatts scored an unearned run and Jordan Ramsay had a two-run double during a four-run rally in the top of the seventh and the Hotshots withstood a three-run rally by the So Cal A's in the bottom of the seventh to pull out the victory.
Lady Dukes-Lamar 8, Carolina Elite-Hutto 0
Gabby Aughton, Olivia Duncan, and Emma Wyman combined on a four-hit shutout and Duke-commit Nadia Sykes, Brijana Burnett and Allyiah Swiney had two hits apiece to lead the Lady Dukes.
LTG Lions-Henderson/Lively 2, Impact Gold Premier-Sydney 1
Kealani Nitta went 2 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs and Rylei Trujillo allowed four hits and struck out three to record the complete-game victory for the Lions.
NorCal Firecrackers-Mettler 3, Impact Gold National-Saenz 1
Addie Mettler went 1 for 3 with two RBIs and Hope Jenkins threw 3.1 innings of scoreless and hitless relief with three strikeouts to pick up the save for the NorCal Firecrackers.
Illusions Premier-Cain 8, So Cal Athletics-Limo 1
Sidne Peters went 3 for 4 with three RBIs and Erin Perez, Veronica Harrison, and Vanessa Soza had two hits apiece for the Illusions. Peters also allowed two hits to record the complete-game win.
OC Batbusters-Campbell/K. Stith 5, EC Bullets 04-Mayfield 3
Jaeya Butler went 3 for 4 with an RBI, Oklahoma-commit Maya Bland doubled, drove in a run and scored two runs, Emily Schepp went 2 for 4 with a double, a run and two RBIs and Samantha Rey went 2 for 4 with a run and an RBI for the Batbusters.
Suncats-Jimenez/Noriega 10, Hotshots Platinum-DeLeon 4
Payton Shemmer went 2 for 4 with a run and two RBIs for the Suncats.
Central Cal Dirtdogs-Pickering 7, Sorcerer-Schroll 4
Ariana Ruiz doubled and drove in three runs, Jadyn Hurtado went 2 for 2 with two runs and an RBI, Lexi Rolin went 2 for 3 with a double and two runs and Grace Coleman belted a two-run homer as the Dirtdogs knocked Sorcerer into the loser's bracket.
Mojo 04-Fisher 9, Texas Glory 05 1
Maci Bergeron went 4 for 4 with two RBIs and Mia Williams doubled, scored two runs and drove in two runs to pace the Mojo.
Texas Bombers Gold-Jones 13, Team Seattle 4
Lexie Warncke went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs for the Bombers.
So Cal Athletics-Grasse/Molina 7, EC Bullets 04-CFL 6
Sammy Saldivar grounder to second in ITB scored Esmeralda Lezo from third in the top of the ninth and the So Cal A's held on to beat the Bullets.

Oakley Bates doubled, homered and drove in three runs, Presley Hosick went 4 for 4 with a run and Ashley West went 4 for 4 with a homer, three runs, and two RBIs to lift the Batbusters.
Texas Bombers Gold HTX-Burgess 3, Corona Angels-Tyson 2
Kayden Henry's walk-off triple with two outs in the bottom of the seventh gave the Bombers the victory over the Corona Angels.
Explosion-Flores/Mays 9, Texas Bombers Gold-Hybrid 5
Jaden Colunga went 4 for 5 with a double, three runs and an RBI, Kylie Johnson went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and Sofia Escoto went 2 for 4 with two RBIs for the Explosion.
California Breeze-Fernald 4, Indiana Magic Gold-Bay 0
Oregon-commit D'Auna Johnson tossed a six-hit shutout with seven strikeouts to help the Breeze.
Ohio Hawks-Hutchinson 12, Texas Blaze United 4
Lauryn Miller, Kendall Forren and Jena Rhoads had three RBIs apiece as the Hawks pounded out 11 hits.
Texas Bombers Gold-Torres 7, NW Bullets-Dawson 5
D'Auna Jennings went 3 for 4, scored two runs, drove in two runs and stole two bases for the Bombers.

Kayden Henry had an RBI single and Aiyana Coleman had a two-run double during a three-run rally in the bottom of the third and Mimi Sandoval went the distance with 12 strikeouts to help the Bombers hold on for the victory.
USA Athletics-Mathis 4, Jersey Intensity-KOD 1
Makayla Mathis and Jayla Cadena had two hits apiece and Samantha Kowalski allowed two hits, no earned runs and struck out five as the Athletics took down the Intensity.
Firecrackers Central Cal-Wallace 5, Aces Express Futures 2
Lilly Garcia, Ayden Stone, and Cadence Walding had two hits apiece and Garcia struck out 15 to get the complete-game win for the Firecrackers.

Klarissa Sanchez allowed four hits, no earned runs and fanned four to record the complete-game victory for the Explosion.

Haley Hibbard had an RBI double and scored on an error during a three-run rally in the top of the sixth to help the Hawks pull out the victory over the Angels.

Isa Torres went 3 for 3 with two doubles, three runs, and an RBI to help the Bombers.
