What Makes a Hot 100 Player?

The final installment of the 2020 Hot 100 rankings will be released later this month leading up to signing day.

Oklahoma-commit Jayda Coleman is the reigning No.1 ranked player in the nation since 2015. There’s no slowing Coleman down as she was one of only two 2020 players to make the USA Junior National Team that took gold at the World Cup over the summer.

Coleman will be in good company with Oklahoma’s No. 1 recruiting class that includes standouts Zaida Puni, Tiare Jennings, Nicole May (California Gatorade Player of the Year) and Paige Knight all in the Hot 100. Coach Patty Gasso’s 2020 class resembles the Sooners 2015 class with Syd Romero, Shay Knighten, Fale Aviu, and Kylie Lundberg.

Georgia Impact Premier - Lewis shortstop and Alabama-commit Bailey Dowling was named Illinois Gatorade Player of the Year in 2018 & 2019. Over the last three seasons, Dowling launched 65 career home runs with 47 RBIs this season. She also made the USA Junior National Team capturing Gold at the World Cup.

Maddie Penta (Maryland Gatorade Player of the Year) and Shelby Lowe could be absolute game-changers for Auburn in the circle. Penta was dynamite over the summer winning TC/USA Nationals. Lefty hurler Lowe was equally impressive leading the Bolts to a 5th place finish at PGF Premier Nationals.

Athletics Mercado Gold one-two punch Alison Royalty (Arizona State) and Ryleigh White (Texas) will certainly jump up the list after winning PGF Premier Nationals and placing second at IDT Boulder. Their roster is stacked with standouts Presleigh Pilon (LSU), Emily Cazares, and Sara Kinch (Minnesota).

Following the release of the Hot 100 rankings, we will release the top recruiting classes along with a Hot 100 Breakdown.
