San Diego, CA (October 2019) – OnDeck Softball, the industry leader in softball evaluations, has partnered with Diamond Solutions, the leading softball analytics consulting firm, to create a data-driven pitching assessment program. 

Diamond Solutions is owned and operated by Nate Walker, a former baseball operations analyst for the Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays. Nate specialized in pitching ball-flight data (TrackMan, Rapsodo, Flightscope) evaluation and served as an analytics liaison for both teams’ Major League coaching staff. Today, Diamond Solutions consults for the top college softball programs in the country in addition to MLB Scouting Departments, professional baseball players, and sports agencies.

Over the past two years, Diamond Solutions has been collecting and analyzing pitch-tracking data for major college softball programs, international teams, and high school pitchers. The goal is to analyze a variety of pitching talent, using the same data processes MLB teams use and apply them to softball organizations.

Diamond Solutions joined OnDeck Softball at their Jamborees to begin developing a new analytics partnership. Both companies are proud to announce their analytical pitching assessments officially launching October 19^th at the SOCAL OTE.

Participants and colleges will be able to purchase assessments that visualize and summarize Rapsodo pitching data, highlight the player’s analytical strengths and weaknesses, and recommend preferred movement ranges for optimal performance. Each evaluation will also come with an analytical scouting grade (20-80 scale), a new metric created by Diamond Solutions meant to summarize the pitcher’s true talent level.
