Jacob Couch +1600 vs Gordon Ryan -4000

Heavyweight (205+ lbs) match | scheduled for 30 minutes

Over 10 min -120

Under 10 min -120

Couch by Submission +2000

Couch by Decision +2200

Ryan by Submission -2500

Ryan by Decision +300

We give all the credit in the world to Jacob Couch for taking this late replacement against one of the greatest grapplers of all time in Gordon Ryan. But it's tough to see how Couch, the drastic underdog, will be able to pose a threat to the king.

Still, there's no real money in a bet on Gordon Ryan any way you cut it.

Take Couch by submission for the thrill of it, and for a better chance of payout, take the over 10 min at -120. That would offer an $83 profit on $100 risked, and there's enough evidence to show that Ryan will want to drag this match out.

He's notoriously a slow starter, and generally likes to forestall the outcome of his matches so that he has time to show his fans the new techniques he has been developing.

Mikey Musumeci -500 vs Geo Martinez +375

Bantamweight (135 lbs) title match | scheduled for 15 minutes

Over 10 min +120

Under 10 min -150

Musumeci by submission +200

Musumci by decision -200

Martinez by submission +675

Martinez by decision +500

Martinez and Musumeci went the full 20-minutes in their last match at FloGrappling’s Road To ADCC in July 2021. Musumeci had Martinez in submission danger, but couldn’t finish the match. While Musumeci says he’s been working on his breaking mechanics, the question remains whether he can submit Geo Martinez. But wise betters can have it both ways. Take the over 10 minute at +120, and win in the event of a decision or a late-match submission from either of the athletes in this bantamweight title match.

Dante Leon +240 vs Micael Galvao -300

Welterweight (170 lbs) | scheduled for 15 minutes

Over 10 min -145

Under 10 min +115

Leon by submission +475

Leon by decision +350

Galvao by submission +125

Galvao by decision +100

You can’t count Dante Leon out of this match; he’s more experienced at the highest level, and he’ll be defending his spot against the rising star. But Mica Galvao is on the hot streak of his life, and smart betters will put their money behind him.

The safer bet is Galvao straight up at -300, where the payout on a successful $100 bet is $33.

Or, take the risk, and win big if Mica wins by submission (+125) or decision (+100).

Match Cancelled

Jacob Couch +275 vs Nicky Ryan -350

Middleweight (185 lbs) match | scheduled for 15 minutes

Over 10 min +150

Under 10 min -180

Couch by submission +400

Couch by decision +500

Ryan by submission -135

Ryan by decision +125

Nicky Ryan is set to return from an eight-month injury layoff against Jacob Couch. While Ryan has been away, Couch has been one of Tezos WNO’s most active athletes; he’s now 4-3 with three submission victories and two submission losses. While Ryan has spent some time on the shelf, his quality of competition when he was active was higher than Couch’s in 2021.

As long as Ryan remains healthy through the match, he should have the edge over Couch. And although his last submission victory was over wrestler Tony Ramos in 2020, Ryan may be able to capitalize on Couch’s aggressive game and earn the submission. A successful bet on that outcome would yield $74 on a $100 wager.

Jessie Crane +300 vs Tammi Musumeci -400

Strawweight (115 lbs) match | scheduled for 15 minutes

Over 10 min +200

Under 10 min -260

Crane by submission +500

Crane by decision +425

Musumeci by submission -200

Musumeci by decision +165

Jessie Crane has now had five matches on Tezos WNO, and all of them — win or loss — have ended in submission. She’s fresh off of a victory over Alexa Yanes in the flyweight division, but Crane may have her toughest test to date in IBJJF gi and no-gi world champ Tammi Musumeci.

Musumeci by submission is not a lock, but it’s a smart pick based on the recent performances of both athletes, and at -200, the payout would be $50 on a $100 bet.

Haisam Rida +160 vs Elder Cruz -200

Light Heavyweight (205 lbs) match | scheduled for 15 minutes

Over 10 min -180

Under 10 min +150

Rida by submission +300

Rida by decision +350

Cruz by submission +180

Cruz by decision +125

Haisam Rida has one of the fastest submissions in Tezos WNO history, but it’s unlikely that he’ll be able to take Elder Cruz to the mat so quickly. We haven’t yet seen the finishing abilities of Elder Cruz, but it’s also rare to see him submitted. With that in mind, the safe bet is to take the over 10 min at -180, but ambitious gamblers may prefer to take Cruz by decision at +125 or Rida by decision at +350.

Nicholas Meregali -350 vs Arnaldo Maidana +275

Heavyweight (205+ lbs) match | scheduled for 15 minutes

Over 10 min 120

Under 10 min -150

Meregali by submission -150

Meregali by decision +185

Maidana by submission +500

Maidana by decision +400

Arnaldo Maidana’s heyday may be behind him, and despite Meregali’s lack of no-gi experience, he’s the favorite in this matchup. If he gets into a position he’s comfortable in, he should thrive, and given the 15-minute time limit, he’ll have plenty of opportunities to get there.

Lack of data makes this pick a true gamble, but Meregali by submission at -150 offers a $67 payout on a successful $100 bet, and seems a likely enough outcome.
