    GUATEMALA CITY — In their U-17 Men’s Pan American Championship opener, the USA Softball U-17 Men’s National Team (MNT) claimed an impressive 10-5 eight-inning victory over world-ranked No. 2 Canada. Cody Gibbons (St. Paul, Minn.) went the distance for the Red, White, and Blue, while the offense exploded with a six-run eighth inning to capture the win.

    PRAGUE, Czech Republic — Argentina was crowned the World Champions in Men’s Softball for the first time in history, causing a buzz across social media. In the Final on Sunday, the South American team defeated Japan, 3-2, in ten innings, in one of the most exciting games in the history of the WBSC Men’s Softball World Championship — the highest level of competition in softball. Huemul Mata went the distance and fanned 17 to claim the win, while Manuel Godoy hit the game-winning RBI single in the top of the tenth.

    Two homers by Matt Palazzo and Erick Ochoa produced all the offense needed for USA as the team claimed the fifth place in the World Championship with a 5-4 victory over Venezuela. USA finished fifth place in the tournament, while Venezuela ended sixth. Both teams climbed one position from the World Championship 2017.
