    LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The 2020 NFCA Hall of Fame induction ceremony has been postponed on the recommendation of the Association’s Board of Directors and Hall of Fame Committee. Donna Fields (St. Mary’s University), Kris Herman (Williams College) and Heinz Mueller (Phoenix College) will be honored at the 2021 NFCA Convention in Las Vegas.

    Veteran Williams College softball coach Kris Herman has coached at the collegiate level for 32 years and has experienced many firsts yet having the 2020 campaign end before it ever was able to start will go down as the most surreal. After the NESCAC, an NCAA Division III conference that includes small private liberal arts colleges like Williams and Amherst, canceled all spring sports Wednesday because of COVID-19, Herman met with her team to discuss the implications of the historic decision.

    In light of the decision of many NESCAC schools to have students return home and complete the semester remotely due to COVID-19, the NESCAC Presidents met and concluded unanimously that conference competition, including conference championships, will be canceled for the 2020 spring season.
