VIERA, FL. (June 26, 2019)  The Pride pulls off a last-minute win after trailing the Comets for most of the game! The USSSA Pride secured their first two wins of the series against the Cleveland Comets with a 3-4 win on Tuesday and a 4-1 win on Wednesday.

The Cleveland Comets jumped on board first scoring in the first inning.

The Pride scored their first run in the bottom of the second inning off a double steal started by Kelly Kretschman. On the steal, Megan Wiggins comes in to score the first run.

Jailyn Ford got the start in the circle for tonight’s game. At top of the fifth inning, Paige Parker came into pitch for Ford. Another pitching change for the Pride, Megan Good comes in for Parker in the same inning.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Allexis Bennett steals second but is called out. The Pride trail 2 to 1 at the end of the fifth inning.
With back to back, diving plays for the Pride defense by Megan Wiggins in right field and Bianka Bell at second to keep the Comets from getting on base.

A leadoff double by Jessie Warren to get the bottom of the sixth started. Chelsea Goodacre rips one down the first base line that scores Warren. Megan Wiggins hits a single that scores Warren. Kelly Kretschman bunts the ball and gets out on first. Wiggins is called out at 2nd as the Comets defense pick her off after making the out at first. Head coach, Gerry Glasco got heated with the third base umpire about the call involving Wiggins.

The Pride held the Cleveland Comets in the seventh inning and that ends the game. The final score of the game is Pride- 3 Comets- 2.

The Pride continues their win streak with the third win of the series against the Cleveland Comets.

In the circle and getting the win for the Pride was Megan Good. Jailyn Ford pitched four innings. Paige Parker pitched one inning and Megan Good comes in to finish the game in the sixth.

The Park Planet Player of the Game was Megan Wiggins for hitting in the winning run in the bottom of the sixth and for her stellar defense during the game.
