In 2016, Paige Lowary was on pace to have an incredible sophomore season on the mound for Missouri until one pitch in late February changed everything.
The Tigers were beating the Oregon Ducks by seven runs in the fourth inning at the Mary Nutter Classic when Lowary was struck by a line drive off the bat of Nikki Udria.
During the course of the season, Lowary struggled with depression and a lack of concentration due to a misdiagnosed concussion. Soon after, she transferred to the University of Oklahoma to begin a new chapter. This is her story.
