"We talked a lot before the game about punching first," Kemmetmueller said. "Not only did we do that by scoring first, but by taking the first game of the series. We knew we would be in for a fun, competitive series and have to come back aggressive tomorrow."

Minnesota is back in action tomorrow as they finish up the series with a doubleheader due to impending weather on Sunday. The first game will begin at the original 1 p.m. CT start time with the second game to follow.

Kemmetmueller stretched the lead to 5-0 in the top of the seventh with a bases loaded single to center.
