National Pro Fastpitch league eight-year veteran catcher Megan Willis teams up with FloSoftball for a seven-part series of catching technique drills.

Currently with the USSSA Pride, Willis has won three Cowles Cup Championships in her five seasons with the Pride and helped her Rockford Thunder team win its first championship in 2009. Willis was named to the All-NPF team during the 2010 campaign and has proven herself as an outstanding defensive player at the highest level of the game.

The former University of Texas Longhorn was twice named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year (2006, 2007) and boasts an incredible .995 career fielding percentage. Willis also holds the UT career record for putouts (2028).

In this week's Technique Thursday, Megan Willis breaks down the blocking position to its most basic level — watching the ball all the way into the glove — and gives coaches and players an effective drill to help catchers overcome a fear of the ball and instill trust in their equipment.
