We continue our look at the top 100 players in the 2016 class; we’re spotlighting 10 each day as we countdown from 100 to No. 1.

The current seniors were chosen based on input and feedback from college and club coaches. Criteria for choosing and ranking the players including performances at the club and high school levels and projecting how they will play at the collegiate level.

Today we feature players No. 90 to 81 with standout players from Alabama, California (2), Georgia, Illinois (2), Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas (2).

Brittany will be the future sparkplug in the Auburn Tigers lineup, running a 2.7 down the line with the ability to power slap or hit to the gaps. She helped Georgia Elite-Hoover to a top four finish in PGF Premier 16U Nationals batting .353 and Coach Australia Hoover says she works harder and shows more passion for the game than any player he’s ever coached. Brittany’s led the club team in batting and average and hits the last few years because she’s fast, smart and aggressive. Defensively, she has great range and a strong arm with the ability to throw out runners trying to score on balls hit to deep centerfield.

Maddison is a West Texas standout and has been a Lone Star State sensation since her freshman year when she broke onto the national scene hitting .570. Maddison—who goes by the nickname “Crash”--- was named an NFCA National High School Player of the Week her sophomore year. The versatile play, who has earned 2nd Team FloSoftball All-American honors, has a career .607 batting average driving in 59 RBI and is on pace to break 100 career stolen bases for her high school. Her physical tools include excellent all-round athletic ability, speed and first-step explosiveness.

Tristen Edwards OF/C Corona Angels - Tyson Nebraska


Tristen will follow in the footsteps of her sisters Tatum and Taylor Edwards to become a Nebraska Husker. She has great bat hand and speed and is naturally strong. The So Cal standout has all the tools physically and has been named Player of the Game seven times for her high school. Tristen offers versatility and power splitting time between catcher and right field for the Angels who finished 6th at PGF 18U Premier.
87 RyLee Rodriguez IF Texas Bombers Gold Texas-San Antonio


Rylee is an elite power hitter who has slugged 42 home runs and driven in 162 runs for her high school with a year yet to go including 17 homers and 67 RBI as a sophomore alone. A 4A All-State selection as a utility player, she can play multiple positions and at the plate has the skill to spray the ball to all fields. As a junior last spring she had a personal best .581 batting average, .714 on-base percentage and a stellar 1.956 OPS.

Birmingham Thunderbolts Alabama


Claire is a 5-foot-8 infielder with a great glove and the power to hit to the gaps. She recently moved to the Birmingham Bolts team which finished 3rd in PGF 18U Premier Nationals. She has excellent range at any infield position other than first and has above average arm strength and good lateral quickness. A 1st Team All-State pick, she’s a .500 hitter with excellent speed and as a sophomore went 37-for-38 in steals.

Gabby made her way up through the Explosion organization as a pure power-hitter who led the So Cal team in home runs at PGF Nationals. Gabby is also versatile in that she can play both corner positions equally well. A quiet leader by example, the senior is in the first group of California recruits Mike Smith is bringing in to compete against the SEC powerhouse opponents.

Cambry is a lead-off hitter who can slap, hit, and drop a bunt for a single. She was named her area’s Female Athlete of the Month for her high school when she compiled a batting average of .562, a slugging percentage .764, and had 24 stolen bases last spring. Cambry can also play multiple positions including second and each spot in the outfield. She was a driving force on the 2013 Bandits 16U team that won the PGF Nationals.
83 Hayleigh Galvan C/UT

Hayleigh is a former football player who uses that natural strength and power to cruch big-time home runs. She also can hit for average too as shown by her .792 batting average in high school where she hit a key two-run homer to help her team advance to the state playoffs. Hayleigh hit in the 4 hole for the Elite team which finished 5th at PGF Nationals and at the Boulder IDT.
82 Dani Morgan IF
New Lenox Lightning Florida State


Dani is an excellent athlete with a live bat who was named by the Chicago Tribune to its Top 30 player list and as one of the Top 100 Softball Players in the Sun Times. She can go on hot streaks and take over in long stretches as shown by her going 10-for-16 in one six-game run with two doubles, four home runs, and 10 RBI. Dani also has a high softball IQ and natural instincts you can’t teach.
81 Miranda Rohleder SS
Wichita Mustangs Fresno State


Miranda is one of the top defensive shortstops in the nation and makes the impossible play look routine. She has a strong arm and great range and several coaches called her a “vacuum cleaner” in the infield. At the plate, she hits lefty and can hit for average and power (as a sophomore, for example, she batted .585 with 40 RBI). A Class 5A 1st Team honoree, Miranda helped lead her team to a Regional title.
