Today, we continue our look at the top 100 players in the 2019 class… we’re spotlighting 10 each day as we count down from 100 to No. 1.

These players were chosen based on input and feedback from college and club coaches who’ve seen them play all across the nation.

Criteria for choosing and ranking the players including performances at the club and high school levels and projecting how they will play at the collegiate level.

Today we feature players No. 60 to 51 with standout players from Arkansas (2), California (2), Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, Rhode Island and Texas (2).

60—Felicia De La Torre, P/1B… Firecrackers – Blanco (uncommitted)
Felicia is a 5-foot-9 power pitcher who throws 62-63 mph and faced 16U and 18U teams last fall and dominated.  She has great up and down movement but can also go east and west equally well.  Felicia also has a powerful bat and, while she is performing at a high level right now, she still has a very high ceiling with room to grow and improve.  The So Cal player is being recruited by Top 25-caliber Pac-12 and Big 12 programs.

59—Raylee Pogue, C/IF… Gametime Stars (Oklahoma)
Raylee is playing for the 18U Gametime Stars team coached by Rusty Fisher. Tough only a freshman, she is playing at a senior or higher level.  One coach said, “She’s a monster at the plate,” and many consider Raylee as one of the top power-hitters in the country at any age level.  Though just a 2019, she’s already made the Watch List for the USA National Team athlete pool in large part because of her versatility—she can play anywhere on the field. The Oklahoma freshman committed to the Sooners last year while in the eighth grade.

58—Cait Calland, C… Texas Bombers Gold (Texas)
Cait is a dominant force behind the plate because of what one scout calls an “electric arm.”  She is also a very unique catcher in that she hits and slaps from the left side and steals bases as well as the best base thiefs.  Her athleticism is rare and you see great plays made every time she’s on the field.  Another coach says her all-around play, especially on defense, reminds him of another former Bomber who starred at the Univ. of Texas as a catcher—Mandy Ogle—who’s now with the PA Rebellion in the NPF.

57—Jaiden Fields, 1B/OF… Georgia Impact – Lewis (Georgia)
Jaiden’s key attribute is her natural strength which translates to great power at the plate. A two-sport athlete (basketball), she was a Georgia 1st Team All-State honoree as a freshman last fall and helped her team tie for 5th in the state. Jaiden has exceptional poise and leadership abilities and is deceptively fast around the bases.  She was recruited by major colleges in the ACC, Pac-12 and SEC but the Bulldogs were her No. 1 choice from the beginning as she’s been attending Georgia camps since the fifth grade.

null
56—Callie Turner, P… Florida Fire (Tennessee)
Callie is a lefty-handed pitcher who also hits lefty. The Florida star throws in the 62-63 mph range in game situations with a change-up that’s highly effective as her arm motion doesn’t change despite a 15-20 mph difference.  Callie mixes speeds very well to keep batters off balance and isn’t afraid to bring the ball in on the batter’s knuckles.  The Florida native has a really good screwball that goes in on lefty hitters and away from righties.  She also has a good curve and is developing a riseball. Tennessee watched her closely at PGF Nationals and then at Diamond 9 during the fall.  Despite heavy interest from programs like Florida State, Central Florida, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Stanford, she committed to the Vols in December.

null
55—Isabella Dayton, CF… So Cal Choppers – Fausett (Ole Miss)
“Bella” lives in Wylie, Texas and joined the Choppers last August in part to play with her cousin McKenzie Barbara, also a highly-touted 2019 going to Ole Miss.  Bella and her mother have made the trip from Dallas to Los Angeles eight times since joining the Choppers.  The Texan has great instincts in the outfield and on the basepaths. Against top national teams she faced in the fall, Bella batted .500 and showed she can slap with the best as she utilized her 2.65-2.70 home-to-first speed to get on base.  Coaches say her work ethic, hand-eye coordination and competitiveness are off the charts and help make her an elite athlete. Bella also runs track and plays basketball.  She committed to the Rebels in December.

null
54—Vanessa Oatley, P… Rhode Island Thunder (Penn State)
Vanessa has been a nationally recognized prospect since age 12 when she played in top tournaments in the Northeast including Jennie Finch and Adirondack, getting MVP honors at both events.  She has faced elite competition and held her own since then in large part because of her curve which she can work with great success on both sides of the plate. Vanessa also throws a low 60’s fastball, a knuckle change-up and a drop-curve change-up. A good sized lefty, she’s also working on a drop that has tight spin and creates good vertical movement.  The Rhode Island star committed to Penn State in the fall of her eighth grade year (fall 2014) and is a relentless worker who doesn’t want to play second fiddle to anyone in the country.

null
53—Joley Mitchell, C… Texas Glory - Adkins (Missouri)
Joley is a five-tool player who can play shortstop, third base and catcher.  At PGF Nationals, after playing most of the summer at shortstop, she was moved to third because of an injury and didn’t make an error all tournament. Joley has switch-hitting power from both sides of the plate and combines that with great speed. The Arkansas native can beat you with a bunt or hit one over the fence.  She is a fierce competitor and shines in the clutch, which included her Arkansas Team Worth 01 team winning the ASA/USA 12U “A” National Championship in 2014.  Another major strength of Joley’s is her speed in the game and how she plays fast.  That’s helped by her involvement in track where she runs the 100M and 200M and throws the shot and discus. Joley committed to Mizzou last January, a little over a year ago.

null
52—Alycia Flores, OF… Firecrackers – Brashear (Oklahoma)
Oklahoma Sooner fans in a few years will be hearing the Flores name a lot as Alycia is the younger sister of 2017 third baseman/outfielder Eliyah Flores (Firecrackers – Rico) who is also committed to the Big 12 powerhouse.  Alycia has unique raw power like Eliyah and can miss-hit the ball and still have it go over the fence.  A gritty and tenacious competitor, she also had Big Ten and Pac-12 offers but wants to play with her sister in Norman, Oklahoma in the future. Alycia plays on the powerhouse Sean Brashear-coached 16U team that also has fellow players committed to Michigan and Tennessee among others.

51—EC Taylor, OF… Georgia Impact – Stewart (Florida)
Emma Claire, or “EC” for short, hails from Marion, Arkansas—10 minutes across the border from Memphis, Tennessee and was on the same Worth team as Joley Mitchel (No. 53 above) that won an ASA/USA 12U “A” National Championship in 2014. EC is one of the fastest players in the 2019 class and is a lefty who can power away or slap with the best.  She has great bat control and is also a solid outfielder who can play all three outfield positions.  EC has long been coveted by major college programs and in the fall of her eighth grade year, at the Surf City-produced Early Thanksgiving Tournament, she was watched closely by head coaches including Tim Walton of Florida who would ultimately win the recruiting war to get the future Gator.
