College baseball’s 2024 Opening Day is Feb. 16 as teams from across the country begin their regular seasons with eyes of qualifying for the NCAA Baseball Tournament this summer. 

For most players in NCAA Baseball, this is the final level, but many others will have the opportunity to move onto the professional level with a chance to play in Major League Baseball.

Last year, the national champions featured the No.1 and No. 2 picks of the 2023 MLB Draft as LSU was led by No.1 pick Paul Skenes and No. 2 pick Dylan Crews. With them and another first round pick, Ty Floyd, the Tigers outlasted Florida and Wake Forest, both of whom also were equipped with top-10 picks.

This year, Wake Forest Baseball may have the best player eligible for the draft in Nick Kurtz and also feature two of the best pitching prospects. There’s a reason Wake Forest is topping multiple top-25 preseason polls. Meanwhile, West Virginia has JJ Wetherholt, the No.1 prospect at both MLB.com and Baseball America. 

February and March are important months for many teams as they play the bulk of their non-conference schedule. And FloBaseball is the place to watch those games.

How To Watch Wake Forest Baseball and No.2 Prospect Nick Kurtz and No. 7 Seaver King on FloBaseball

Kurtz and Wetherholt are right at the top of every prospect list. 

Some mock drafts have the towering 6-foot-6, 230-pound Kurtz going No.1 to Cleveland. And he'll be on the FloSports network.

Wake's Seaver King is the No.2 shortstop in the class according to Baseball America. He hit .411/.457/.699 with 11 home runs and 13 stolen bases in 2023 before impressing in the Cape Cod League. 

Wake Forest Baseball Also Includes Top Pitchers in 2024 MLB Draft In Chase Brown and Josh Hartle

While there's no way to know who will pitch in either of those games, the Demon Deacons have two of the best pitchers in the  draft class. Left-hander Josh Hartle and right-hander Chase Burns, who is transferring from Tennessee, anchor the rotation. 

Burns opened the 2024 calendar as Baseball America's No.7 prospect before slipping top No. 15, one slot behind Hurtle, in the February update. 

No. 3 Prospect Travis Bazzana And Oregon State Baseball Heading To College Baseball Showdown

The consensus No. 3 prospect, Travis Bazzana, will plain two preseason tournaments on FloBaseball. 

First, the Beavers will play at the Sanderson Ford College Classic on the opening weekend from Feb. 16-19, then at the College Baseball Showdown during the 2024 Kubota College Baseball Series from Feb. 23-25.

Stream Northeastern Baseball And No.5 prospect Mike Sirota On FloBaseball All Season

The Northeastern Huskies are members of the CAA and thus all the Huskies' home games and conference games will stream on FloBaseball and FloSports. 

And that means Mike Sirota will be bashing all spring on FloBaseball. 

The No.5 prospect at Baseball America and No. 11 at MLB.com, Sirtoa slashed .312/.465/.477  in the Cape Cod League. He scored a program-record 73 runs in 2023 and hit 18 home runs. Sirota looks to the be the first Northeastern player taken in the first round since Adam Ottavino in 2006. 

North Carolina Baseball And No. 6 Prospect Vance Honeycutt Faces Pair of CAA Teams

The CAA has its fair share of teams from North Carolina and the Tarheels will pay Campbell and UNCW visits on March 5 and May 14. That means Vance Honeycutt, who is competing with Sirota to be the top outfielder drafted, will be in action during both games. 

Texas A&M Baseball And Braden Montgomery At College Baseball Showdown In March

The Aggies will be headed to the final weekend of the College Baseball Showdown at the Kubota College Baseball Series from March 1-3. Texas A&M will play games against the Arizona State and USC. 

And that means Montgomery, the No. 9 prospect at Baseball America will be in action. The Stanford transfer profiles as a MLB hitter, but he also has been clocked at 98 MPH on the mound. But he is expected to only throw in releif and be an everyday hitter. Which is good, because he slashed .336/.461/.611 with 17 home runs and 14 doubles in 2023.

When Is The 2024 MLB Draft?

The 2024 MLB Draft is part of MLB All-Star week and will be in Arlington, Texas, where the World Series champion Texas Rangers are hosting the All-Star Game. 

The All-Star Game is July 16. The official date of the draft has yet to be announced, but the 2023 MLB Draft began the Sunday before the All-Star Game, which was played on Tuesday.
