Oklahoma Softball begins a challenging weekend on Feb. 23 as the No.1 team in the nation, riding a 62-game winning streak and winners of the last three NCAA National Championships, travels to the 2024 Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.

The Sooners played in this tournament in 2023 just days after suffering their only loss of the year to Baylor. That was their last loss.

At Cathedral City’s Big League Dreams Complex, Sooners beat every team they played by at least seven runs, including then No.1 UCLA who they blasted 14-0 in five innings. 

This year, Oklahoma begins play on Feb. 23 and begins their slate with No. 25 Mississippi State Softball, followed by Wisconsin.

Who Is Mary Nutter?

Mary Nutter was an All-American softball player and a pioneer in the sport. 

She was a coach at Pittsburgh State and was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame in 1988 and the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 1997.

Nutter died in 2012.
