Recently we sat down with Tony Rico, the Head Coach for the Firecrackers 18U team, to ask him what he thought were challenges facing the softball industry.
Coach Rico, who oversees the Firecracker brand that has permeated to dozens of teams in California, Arizona and Texas and is the driving force behind the “Play with Honor” philosophy that these teams embrace, highlights three areas:
- teaching and training methods
- working together within the sport
- improved and strengthened relationships between everyone
