We’ve posted the first 50 of the outstanding players in the 2016 Hot 100 and are using the halfway point to look at some early trends.

We’ve posted the first 50 of the outstanding players in the 2016 Hot 100 and are using the halfway point to look at some early trends.

If you missed last week's rankings, you can see 100-91, 90-81, 80-71, 70-61, and 60-51 exclusively on FloSoftball!

It’s always fun to look at where things stand one week in with this week’s Top 50 yet to be revealed.

Here are some interesting developments so far… we’ll see how it goes when all 100 are revealed!


*** Colleges who have the most commits so far (players ranked 51-100):
  • Auburn (4)
  • Arizona State, Fresno State, Ole Miss (3)
  • Alabama, Cal, James Madison, Missouri, Penn State (2)
*** It’s not just your “big name” universities that are represented… Hot 100 players also go to “non-power conference schools” like:
  • Central Florida
  • Fresno State
  • Georgia Southern
  • James Madison
  • Mercer
  • South Florida
  • Texas-San Antonio
*** Top club organizations with players listed so far:
  • Birmingham Thunderbolts, Explosion (5)
  • Beverly Bandits (3)
  • Corona Angels, EC Bullets, Firecrackers (Ewing, Rico), Georgia Impact (Bass, Gibson), Jersey Intensity, So Cal A’s, So Cal Choppers, Wichita Mustangs (2)
*** In terms of states producing players, California leads the way as usual with 17 players being from the Golden State of the 50 players released to date. The list so far goes like this:
  • California (17)
  • Alabama (5)
  • Georgia (4)
  • Texas (4)
  • Illinois (3)
  • Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virginia (2)
*** 18 states have been represented so far: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.
