The voters for the 2022 Hot 100 made FloSoftball history with nearly 140,000 nominations cast to help decide which players were included in the rankings. The talent is overflowing in this class, which is studded with more catchers in the Hot 100 than ever before. Two things that make this class of athletes special are the versatility and strength of hitters and defenders.

We’ve partnered with AthPro360 which measures thousands of athletes at every level and is now gathering data on the top club organizations around the country. AthPro360’s objective performance data will weigh heavily in the Hot 100 rankings.

One new addition to our class rankings that we’re excited to release are the position-specific rankings. We’ve traditionally ranked the top 100 athletes in their respective class. Following the release of the Hot 100, we are going to rank the top 25 players by position: outfield, middle infield, corners, catchers, and pitchers.

These rankings are always subject to change in next year's updated list, and this summer and fall will reveal both the contenders and pretenders.

Monday, June 11 — 2022 Hot 100 Breakdown

40 | Kaydee Bennett, MIF | Texas Travelers (Oklahoma State)

Kaydee Bennett is gritty and plays the game with a reckless abandonment that you simply can't teach. A triple threat at the plate, Bennett takes extra bases with ease at every opportunity. She leads the Travelers in stolen bases and hits for power. Up the middle, Bennett displays great range and the ability to make tough plays look easy. She made the USA All-American team and her team placed third at USA Softball Nationals.

39 | Kyye Ricks, OF | EC Bullets Mayfield

You might as well record a Kyye Ricks single as a double because when she steals second base she's safe every time. Resembling the Emanuel sisters of Georgia, her running mechanics are smooth and effortless. She's been clocked at 2.6 from home to first and leads off for EC Bullets Mayfield, who finished third at PGF Premier Nationals. Batting over .500, she's a triple threat to power slap, soft slap, and bunt. Born to run and jump, she broke the long jump state all-county record. She also helped her track team win the county championship by winning the 100m and 200m events. She's caught the interest of SEC and ACC schools.

38 | Lauren Burnette, MIF/C | Atlanta Vipers - Trowell (Georgia)

Lauren Burnette is one of the big bats on Atlanta Vipers Trowell, a team chock-full of 2021 commits. Georgia wasted no time verbally committing Burnette, who will fit very nicely into the Bulldogs' offense. She is very versatile player who can play shortstop and catcher.

37 | Jade Ignacio, C | Athletics - Mercado/Greg

With visits to Oklahoma, Arizona, and Syracuse before the NCAA contact rule change, Jade Ignacio knows how to light it up at the plate. She's a beast in the box putting up serious power numbers. She has the potential to be one of the top catchers because of her ability to block and get strikes for her pitchers. She has visited Oklahoma, Arizona, and Syracuse.

36 | Leighann Goode, MIF | American Freedom - Goode

One of the strongest arms in the 2022 class, Goode has been measured at 68 mph overhand and has all the parts to be a big-time hitter/shortstop. With 70 mph exit speeds and 64 mph bat speeds, Goode will be a power hitter for years to come.

35 | Kenna Ray Dark, P/DH | Lady Lightning Futures (North Carolina)

One club coach who played against her said, “She was the only dominating pitcher our team faced all fall and we didn’t know she was a 2022 until after the game when we were talking to college coaches. They said they had her consistently throwing 63-64 mph.” Dark is a dual threat, a shut-down pitcher and a feared hitter who has proven herself against the country’s best in tournaments like Boulder IDT, PGF Nationals, D9, and others. She hits the radar gun in the mid-60s and has a devastating changeup that gets batters flailing at air. Dark is equally dangerous at the plate, as she has unlimited power. Dark had interest from SEC, Big Ten, and Big 12 schools but ultimately chose to stay home and play for the Tar Heels.

34 | Remmington Hewitt, SS | Sorcerers Gabales (Arizona State)

Hewitt has been playing up on 18U Sorcerers Gabales, holding her own playing shortstop. She has superior range in the infield, tremendous defensive footwork, and solid throwing fundamentals. Conditioning her softball game against the top softball competition in the country has only sharpened her IQ and ability to play at the highest level. Hewitt is a power hitter with gap-to-gap coverage. As an eighth-grader playing with and against seniors in high school, she never gets rattled. She visited ASU, Washington, Ole Miss, Oregon, and Nebraska before committing to Arizona State.

33 | Tianna Bell, IF | Lady Magic (Washington)

Defensively smooth and versatile enough to play all positions, Bell hits clean up for Lady Magic. A gap-to-gap hitter with power, she's like Danielle Henderson from the left side. She's is a shut-down corner with speed and agility on the dirt. Her instincts and athleticism allow her to play all over the field, but it’s her offensive talents that make her stand out among her peers. With exit velocity that is off the charts, her "violent swing" produces laser-like line drives and home runs that leave the park in a hurry. She's ultra-competitive and has a fierce bulldog mentality that pushes her and her teammates around her to never be beaten.

32 | Alexis Ramirez, C | OC Batbusters - Campbell

Alexis Ramirez may be sharing time with Oklahoma commit Jocey Erickson on Batbusters-Campbell, but she’s quickly becoming known as the best lefty catcher in the 2022 class. Last summer at PGF, Ramirez was her team's go-to catcher. Like Janell Wheaton, she throws from the left side but bats from the right. Refined with great skills behind the plate and a strong, accurate arm, she's always working hard. Ramirez is an awesome team player who will be working even harder this summer during PGF to get her squad to the championship.

31 | Brionna Condon, MIF | Georgia Impact - Fisher (South Carolina)

Many club coaches raved about "Juice" Condon and her ability to play short. "I don't think I've seen her make an error," one club coach mentioned. And in two seasons, Condon has only made six errors. She is a slick fielder with tremendous range and overhead velocity in the 68-70 mph range. Another student of Lincoln Martin, who listed Juice as the "Best 22' glove out there," Condon is the starting shortstop for Georgia Impact Premier-Fisher, which finished second at PGF Premier Nationals. Condon was a two-time Defensive Player of the Year for Etowah with multiple Power Five offers before committing to South Carolina.
