The Scrap Yard Dawgs reeled off two consecutive victories on Sunday, August 20, to claim the NPF Championship over the USSSA Pride at LSU's Tiger Park in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

After winning 5-0 in Game 1 on Saturday, the Pride only needed one more victory to clinch the best-of-three title series, but Dawgs pitcher Monica Abbott had other ideas.

Abbott -- who gave up four earned runs in the 5-0 loss -- responded in Game 2 by giving up just five hits and zero runs and striking out 14 in the Dawgs' 2-0 victory. An hour later, the tournament MVP then helped the Scrap Yard Dawgs capture the championship by allowing just one earned run in their 5-2 comeback victory in Game 3.

"Monica Abbott did something you won't see again if you follow softball for the next 30, 40, 50 years," Dawgs manager Gerry Glasco said. "I don't think you'll see another performance equal to her performance here this week. The heart and the guts, she showed the tenacity on the mound in the heat and humidity, weather delays. A phenomenal performance, and I think one of the greatest performances in the history of softball."

Here are the top five moments from the series.
