We continue our look at the top 100 players in the 2016 class, spotlighting 10 each day as we countdown from No. 100 to No. 1. In our second week now, we're breaking into the Top 20 today!

The current seniors were chosen based on input and feedback from college and club coaches. Criteria for choosing and ranking the players includes
performances at the club and high school levels and projecting how they will play at the collegiate level.

Today we feature players No. 20 to 11 with standout players from California (6), Georgia, South Carolina, Texas and Wisconsin.

		Amanda has been described by one coach as a “beast” for her play on the field, but also because of her work ethic and passion for the game.  She suffered a knee injury in Colorado in July 2014 and came back this summer with a vengeance, doubling up on her lessons and workouts in the gym. She typically leads off – she hit over .600 at PGF Nationals –but has great power too and had four games where she started the game off with a home run.  Amanda is also mature in her mental approach and doesn’t force the process, knowing she won’t get a hit at every at-bat. Defensively, she’s solid and as a sophomore made only four errors in 116 chances.
19	Kayla Konwent	C/3B	Illinois Chill	Wisconsin
		Kayla is a great hitter who generates tremendous power in her swing and was named the Gatorade State Player of the Year after hitting .600 and setting a Wisconsin state record with 19 home runs.  She also drew 37 walks, many of them intentional, as a sign of how respected and feared she was by opponents. A smart, analytical hitter, Kayla makes adjustments each at-bat and is one of the smartest hitters in the country. The Midwest standout has led her high school team to multiple state championship and it’s not just because of her bat—she has a 70 mph-plus arm behind the plate.  Some long-time scouts feel Kayla is one of—if not the best—prospects to ever come out of Wisconsin.
18	Mia Camuso	1B/OF	Sorcerer Gold	Oregon
		Mia is one of the top hitters in the country both in average and power.  She was named as the CalHiSports State Junior of the Year in 2015 after setting a CIF Northern Section record with 16 home runs to go along with a .604 batting average and 61 RBI.  Mia also had a strong summer including several big home runs hit at the TC/USA Nationals.  A 3-hole hitter who can go to all fields, she has softball in her blood as two sisters played collegiately—Samantha at UCLA and Mandy at St. Mary’s—and her father, Kenny, is a well-respected hitting instructor.
17	Aaliyah Jordan	OF	Corona Angeles	UCLA
		Aaliyah is a five-tool player and arguably the top athlete in the senior class.  One highly respected coach says has the outfielder has all the tools to be a college All-American.  The San Diego-area senior competes a different level in large part because she attacks every play, at-bat and game with passion and ferocity, yet scouts say she hasn’t realized her potential yet and her future has no limits.  Aaliyah had major colleges from across the nation following her since her freshman year because of her athleticism, clutch hitting and stellar defense.
16	Reyna Carranco	SS	OC Batbusters - Haning/Stith	Arizona
		Reyna is a precision hitter who is quiet, but skilled with solid fundamentals coupled with gifts you can’t teach.  She has a sound approach at the plate and is advanced in going to all fields.  When she gets hot, she can go on a streak unlike anyone in the country  In May of 2015, for example, she was named the MaxPreps/NFCA West Regional Player of the Week after she went 8-for-10 during one Spring week with five of the hits being home runs for her So Cal school. 15	Cayla Drotar	P/3B	Lady Lightning Gold Team Miken	South Carolina
		Cayla is a two-time Gatorade Player of the Year in South Carolina because she is dominant in the circle and at the plate.  A power pitcher who also throws a rise and change, she went 21-3 with a 0.68 ERA and 209 K’s in 143 2/3rd innings as a junior leading her team to the Class 3A state championship series.  At the plate she hit .635 with 14 home runs and 62 RBI.  Amazingly, she’s already been a five-time All-State selection going back to the 7th grade when she led her high school to a 3A state title and her first year in high school she was named the MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year. Equally strong at the club level, Cayla has played 18U Gold ball since she was 14 years old.
14	Jaimie Hoover	C/3B	Georgia Elite - Hoover	Florida
		Jaimie is the prototype corner infielder/catcher in that she is strong and powerful, but is surprisingly fast and often gets a double take from opposing coaches who cannot believe how quickly she gets up the line.  Jaimie is athletic with superior agility and hand-eye coordination that makes her a clutch hitter who has a high average – she hit .450 this year--but also is a power threat.  She’s led the Georgia Elite team as well as her Georgia high school in home runs every season has won championships at each level as well: TC/USA Nationals in club and the Class 6A title as a sophomore.  Jaimie is built for college play and has all the skills to be a standout player at Florida soon after setting foot on the Gainesville campus.
13	Nerissa Eason	P	All American Sports Academy	Oregon State
		Nerissa, who previously went with the last name of ​Long​, was a key cog in leading the AASA team to a tie for 7th at PGF 18U Nationals and a 5th place finish at Boulder IDT.  She is a flame-thrower who regularly hits the gun in the high 60’s and one scout says he’s seen her hit 71 mph.  Nerissa isn’t just a power pitcher, however; she also has a drop, rise, curve, back-door curve and change-up in her repertoire.  The Nor Cal senior plays with passion and fire and was a 2nd Team All-State Underclass selection after going 17-5 with a 0.74 ERA and recording 203 strikeouts in 133 innings.  Opponents hit only .093 against her and of her 22 high school starts, 13 were shutouts and seven were no-hitters.
12	Nicole Bates	SS	Firecrackers - Rico	Washington
		Nicole is a lefty slapper who is a dynamic and versatile player who can beat you with her short game or with power.  She’s also a standout in basketball, where she averages 15 ppg and had the honor of being named her Nor Cal high school’s Athlete of the Year along with her brother Jimmy who also plays multiple sports.  Nicole was named a 1st Team All-State Underclass pick by CalHiSports.com this year after hitting .518 with 59 hits and striking out only three times in 127 plate appearances. Defensively she’s a rock in the infield and makes the extraordinary plays look routine.
11	Nicole Mendes	P/1B	Texas Diamond Hotshots	Oklahoma
		Nicole is the definition of versatility as she can play any position and has the tools to dominate wherever she’s placed.  A lefty pitcher who has excellent spins and a change-up she throws at different speeds, she has blossomed in confidence and leadership abilities over the past year and has a maturity on and off the field that’s unmatched (she served a church mission to England earlier this year for two weeks, for example).  Unusual in that she’s home schooled and doesn’t play high school ball, Nicole has the work ethic to work doubly hard in the spring when most athletes are playing for their schools.  At the plate, Nicole has gap power and impressive speed that can turn a normal single into a double or even triple.  A 4-hole hitter, she can bunt, slap or hit a three-run homer.  Expect the Sooners to find a spot for her early in her career and don’t be surprised if Nicole is a four-year starter with Big 12 and even All-American success.
