Sophomore Catcher Mary Iakopo Leaves Oregon
Sophomore catcher Mary Iakopo leaves the University of Oregon.
Starting sophomore catcher Mary Iakopo leaves the University of Oregon making her the third player from Oregon to leave the program this fall.
Miranda Elish & Lauren Burke announced they were transferring on October 18th and followed through with their transfer to Texas.
Iakopo was named Second Team All-Pac 12 after hitting 8 home runs with 37 RBI and a .306 batting average.
The Ducks are left without a catcher and will likely resort to recruiting a transfer or they may convert a position player into a catcher for the 2019 season.
At this time, we do not know what school Iakopo intends to transfer to but we will keep you informed as the story develops.
